Whats the betting that the Brexiteers will insist on a 60% vote to cancel Brexit :-).

I would normally argue that such a drastic change of policy would normally justify such a 60% requirement. But that given the obvious same omission from the brexit referendum, it wouldn't be fair to impose it now.

The Maybot meeting Macron later this week. I'm half expecting more chat on the periphery about how if Brexit is cancelled then the UK might be able to have some limited concessions maybe on free movement etc. I Still think we're being softened up for another referendum.

Wasn't that the Boris position, Vote to leave and wait for the concession? Oh yes here it is.
There is only one way to get the change we need, and that is to vote to go, because all EU history shows that they only really listen to a population when it says No

I didn’t pay sufficient attention at the time, but in retrospect the referendum bill was deeply flawed.

I agree that the same or similar rules ,in terms of majority and elegibilty to vote ,should apply to any second referendum.

However as elegibilty was based on citizenship ,not residency, then any new vote should extend to all British citizens.

I’m not sure the Mandelson narrative about the motivations of Leave voters is going to be helpful.

Mandelson didn't express an opinion on leave voters.

He did however express an opinion regarding the motivation of some Brextremists in the Conservative party.
“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Is this the same Mandelson that you're referring to?

He's so self aware, isn't he?

Whats the betting Citizens of the EU27 insist on a 70% vote to cancel Brexit. They do not want a Trojan Horse inside the EU.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

The thinktank said, that following the pick-up in activity after the sluggish start to the year, the economy was on course to grow by 1.4% in 2018 and by 1.75% each year thereafter.

It added, however, that even these modest growth rates relied on the UK continuing to have close to full access to the EU market for its goods and services.

Ah, the NIESR which works for the European Commission according to its own website.

Saying that we need to be effectively part of the EU if we are to achieve higher growth rates when even the 1.4% quoted is more than projections for the EU. Risible.

It feels to me that there is a concerted campaign of late to reconstitute project fear. The media is currently awash with the stuff.
It doesn’t sound too far fetched that in the midst of that, a few well timed concessions from the EU27 paired with another referendum might be enough for Brexit to lose in another vote.
    We are being played IMO.

Shame on you for continuing to peddle fake news.
During the LBC interview, at no point did Mandelson say that Leave voters or Brexiteers were nationalists who hate foreigners.

Don't blame me, I voted Remain.
