Brexit the economy and house prices part 6

The BBC covered it at least once. Considering Cameron was lying about the situation it's no great surprise he didn't want to tell everyone we already had the power to kick people out and hadn't used it by choice.0
-
And I told you you were talking nonsense.
I posted about 5 links to different people mentioning it during the campaign, so I don't see how it can be nonsense.
It never propagated through to the right wing media, of course. But the Leave campaign didn't seem to be too bothered about impartiality or accuracy. That it was ignored doesn't mean it wasn't mentioned. Could it have been mentioned more? Absolutely.0 -
Here's a blog covering the "why facts don't work" argument, from yesterday: https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/the-brexit-identity-why-facts-wont-win-the-remain_uk_5a6f91b8e4b068bb3d91dc93
The poll reveals what we already knew again. The only groups that still have a majority leave are the over 65's, not working / retired, and Tory/UKIP voters.
The only people who think it'll improve the "working status" is the retired.
No group has a majority thinking they'll be better off.
The only groups with a majority "way of life improvement" is the over 75's or the retired (who only get to 49%).
The general theme being that the only ones who think Brexit is a good idea are the ones who'll be unaffected by the changes. Assuming views are set based on year of birth rather than age (i.e. being shaped by a major event growing up) then it's barely going to be 10 years before all of the majorities will be positive towards remain and negative towards leaving. That's likely to mean a majority wanting back in within the next 20 years. Which will be fine because the bulk of those that wanted to leave will be 85+ if they make it that long with another 20 years of austerity.0 -

I’m not wasting my time telling you the same things over and over again. Instead why don’t you and your little forum pals get together for a brainstorm and try figure out why team jezza isn’t pushing your fantastic plans. It sounds to me like he’d love it as it sorts out the main reason why he has to plonk his backside firmly on that fence.
Perhaps he is in league with the right wing media?0 -
You can tell me whatever you want, the facts remain the same.
Though I've honestly no idea why Jezza isn't making a big deal of the fact we can already do what people are asking for. Maybe he's stuck trying to defending Leaving just as much as May is. It doesn't alter the fact that we can control immigration already though?0 -
Or even just that a lot of Labour heartlands voted to leave for emotional reasons and appealing upon logic is a vote loser.0

Doesn't bode well for a deal in October0 -
Surely big Phil, or chukka or Gideon or grieve or Gina miller or god knows who else could figure out that writing stuff on buses seems to get people interested.
Are team remain so thick that they can’t even manage to put ‘we can control immigration today’ on the side of one and send it off round the country.
I mean it’s not even like it’s a lie is it.
Maybe they like to take the high ground and not pander to the masses.
Maybe the right wing media have hired all the buses?0
