Brexit the economy and house prices part 6

If you believe Theresa May's restated redlines today and the EU's redlines then it is hard to see how we don't end up with a "No Deal" scenario if nothing else changes0
-
But is there any evidence of this?
People said they needed us more than we needed them, that BMW would make them give us everything we want, that the world is flat, and that Elvis isn't really dead.
From all I can see, the EU is giving us literally everything we asked for - we've gone from being treated as an integral member with all the perks that involves, to a 3rd party with none of the perks of membership. That's punishing, but it's not the EU that's doing it to punish us.
It's like us shooting ourself in the foot and blaming the EU for letting us.0 -
This is the thing that amuses me the EU is best thing since sliced bread, but if one member decides it's not for them they must be punished to discourage other members leaving.0

What part of no-cherry-picking does she not understand? And how exactly could this be explained to her in such a way that she would?
......and the pound continues to fall!
I suppose it does rather characterise the Conservative Party, and indeed much of the British establishment, that they believe "leadership" is a matter of being seen to shout at foreigners.
A bit like those drunk British tourists you see at Spanish holiday resorts. Except these aren't tourists. They are Englands upper classes, educated at the supposed elite public schools, and proud of their geneologies and links to Crown0 -
After more than two years Brexiteers still doesn't understand, the EU is not going to compromise its core beliefs just to accommodate the UK. They are not 'punishing' us!0

She doesn't cherry pick, that is work for immigrants.
Obviously we deserve respect without having to earn it because of our superiority. In which case we will leave without a deal and all pay the price I'm sure we will suffer but so will the EU and not just financially as support for those core beliefs is not universal in EU.
The EU won't suffer as much as us and it especially won't suffer as much as if they give in to us. There is literally no reason for them to appease our unreasonable demands. Even if they did, we'd keep going back for more and more. It's best if they stand strong and stable.
The core beliefs are way more universal than what you hope.3. A Permanent solution to avoiding a border on the island of Ireland.
That's it. Only in the annexes to the Withdrawal Agreement are there political declarations about our future relationship with the EU after 29/3/19, all of which are subject to future talks. The annexes include things like future customs arrangements and trade agreements that are not essential to an orderly departure of the UK from the EU and are subject to future discussions.
A permanent solution for ireland revolves around the future relationship though & there isn't a solution that has support in the UK let alone getting the EU to agree to it. It's kinda weird that she's trying to whip up resentment against the EU for rejecting a plan that our parliament will be rejecting if they get to vote on it.0 -
Would you like to elaborate on any concession the EU have made, do you want us to leave with out a deal which will be detrimental to both sides. If the EU is so good it should be able to relax some of its rules without the fear that other members will leave.
The EU doesn't need to make any concessions. They aren't being hard on us to scare other members I to stating; the other members stay because it benefits them.
As we leave the EU, it is no longer concerned with our interests. It would like to see us thrive but not at the expense of the EU.
A no deal departure will be disastrous for both UK and EU. But the onus on avoiding that lies solely with the UK government. It just has to stop fighting itself for 5 minutes and pick one of the acceptable options0 -
Explain how would they suffer if they made a couple of minor concessions.
We're not asking for minor concessions; most of what we're asking amount to circumventing the 4 freedoms or jeapordizing the EU project, or having the EU relying on an external entity with no jurisdiction to watch it's borders.
Can you name a concession they can give us that doesn't harm them? And why they'd do so beyond us deserving special treatment? We've already burnt a lot of good will.
May has essentially been asking for no ECJ but essentially free movement of goods capital and services with a "trust us" border and tax regime, getting full access to the bits of the EU it wants whilst not contributing towards it's upkeep. Those are big asks.0 -
Went to Snap Fitness in Windsor the other day.
Despite having cancelled my membership last year, I asked if I could still use the cross trainer and the rowing machine.
They said 'nope'.
How humiliating.
Why are they trying to punish me??
Bloody unelected bureaucrats everywhere. :mad:Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0
