Meanwhile, in France, the benefits of being in the EU are coming home..Priorities set in the next budget will matter for the euro-area’s second-largest economy, which is not growing as fast as President Emmanuel Macron has predicted. Consumer spending, the motor of the French economy, is forecast to grow by 0.2 percent in the second quarter -- trailing both Germany and the European Union. And more seriously for Macron, the unemployment rate is still just 0.3 percentage point lower than when he took office.
Measures to reduce public spending will include cutting family and housing benefits, in addition to the controversial plan to stop pegging pensions to inflation. The government will cut 4,500 public jobs next year and over 10,000 in 2020, he said, with public broadcasting and the ministry of finance among potential casualties.

So from what the Govmt has published re. the consequences of a no deal brexit.......your driving licence may not be valid, you could be subject to data roaming charges and you may have to pay for a driving permit in every country you visit but at least you'll get a blue passport. Great!
At least Salisbury can expect an invasion of Russian tourists now that two gothic architecture enthusiasts have insisted on Russian TV that the cathedral is so nice you have to go and see it twice! :-)0 -
Yeah I think it's safe to assume that we'll lose anything that transfers seamlessly to the EU, but that's what we wanted.
I wonder if we'll also unwind things like the restirction on hidden booking/transaction fees that the EU outlawed.Meanwhile, in France, the benefits of being in the EU are coming home..
France doing badly whilst in the EU doesn't automatically made the EU a bad thing.0 -

Got this from somewhere else - seem to sum it up nicely at the moment:
Brexit - like cancelling your gym contract and then complaining because they won't let you carry on using the facilities...0 -

At least when our planes are grounded post Brexit, Russian agents won't be able to fly into Gatwick and wander around Salisbury, leaving deadly nerve agents lying about. That'll show Putin. :-)0 -

Come on Mayo I’ve been back a while. The entertainment is just too great to miss out on.
Great to see #6 actually is exactly the same as #1-#5 though.0 -

Most people end up letting their gym memberships lapse. As they don't get value for money.0
