Zionism refers to the movement to create a Jewish state in the Middle East, roughly corresponding to the historical land of Israel, and thus support for the modern state of Israel. Anti-Zionism opposes that.

Either you support the modern state of Israel, or you want to dismantle it and replace it with something else.

    Which side are you on?

I’m on the side of facts, rather than rabidly accusing people of a thought crime using tenuous straw man arguments.

There has been a State of Israel since 1948, the existence of the Israeli state or the right of Israelis to live there is is not in doubt. This, not even 100 year old country, exists because it was established by the British Empire and recognised by the UN.

What was not established by the British Empire or recognised by the UN was a systematic process of ethnic cleansing of Palestinian people. Those unlucky enough to be born on the wrong side of the ever shrinking circle of barbed wire that Israel allows them.

Some of them still eke out an agrarian existence outside of this, until fundamentalist religious fanatics arrive out of nowhere, set fire to their farms, throw them off, and build illegal settlements on them. Because they believe their own personal bitter and vengeful brand of God has given them the divine imperative to do so.

No, I’m not on the side of Zionism. Why are you?

I think it fair to say that, thus far in the negotiations, the UK has been too predictable, and the EU has been able to drive the agenda and control the discussions.

Barnier has been driving the agenda on behalf of the EU until now.

Look at a map of Palestinian settlements 10 years ago and compare it with now an see how they have fragmented and shrunk. The Palestinians are being systematically forced into smaller and less productive areas. Settlements are being built on occupied territories and Palestinians can only have their disputes heard in Israeli military courts, whereas Israeli citizens have their disputes heard in civil courts. Palistinians territories water supply is being disrupted, barbed wire fences and walls are everywhere but what matters here is to smear Corbyn. Tells you everything!

Low mid table mediocrity is a far cry from the 2016 boasts that we were the fastest growing economy in the 28

It's also a far cry from the usual suspects on here doing cartwheels at the news that the UK was at the bottom of G7 growth figures a few months back.
Are Italy and France in the G7 BTW? :)

Bloomberg have to say with 199 days to go. The withdrawal/transition deal looks that it might be dragged over the line.

    QUOTE
Today in Brexit: The EU is making increasingly positive noises that a Brexit deal is within reach. But don’t breathe easy just yet — there are still battles to come when Prime Minister Theresa May brings her deal back to Parliament.

Michel Barnier, the European Union’s chief negotiator, reckons a Brexit deal is in sight. His tone has shifted, he’s increasingly polite about Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit plans, and on Monday he set out a timeline to a deal: six to eight weeks.

The pound surged on the prospect that a path to an agreement is emerging after months of dire warnings that the U.K. could tumble out of the bloc into legal limbo.

Barnier’s timeframe for a divorce deal – covering the financial settlement, citizens’ rights and the Irish border – takes us to to early November, when a one-off summit is expected. The Guardian reports that Nov. 13 is being penciled in for the final agreement.

If a deal is in reach it’s because a lot of the trickiest decisions will be postponed until after Brexit day, as Bloomberg reported last week. The two sides are focused on getting the divorce agreement over the line and securing a two-year transition period that will give businesses breathing space. Negotiators haven’t yet started drafting the political declaration on what the future trade and security ties will look like. That will have to be done hastily before November. It will lack detail, but that is seen as a virtue as it could make it easier for the U.K.’s bitterly divided lawmakers to accept.
    END QUOTE
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

I don't have a penchant for adding far right, nor am I comparing them to some of the blatant neo-nazi groups. In the UK political spectrum, someone must be on the far right (and left). If I'm talking about far right here, I mean for the UK - the further right of the Tories, UKIP, BNP for instance.

    Fair enough.
That said, language is important when talking about politics. The term 'far right' is usually used to describe fascist thinking, although I have noticed that in this age of the Corbynista and petty Scottish Nationalism anyone with a right of centre of view is ripe to be accused of being described as far right.
In political parlance 'far right' has a certain baggage, its important we use it correctly.

Sounds pretty much you would expect and similar to the can kicking after the financial crisis. It may "work" but doesn't really get to grips with anything in a positive way.

Given the first scenario is what we have been told for the last 18 months, where are these truck drivers going?

Is that a serious question? Because nobody has said that all lorries would stop.

Rich people will still be able to afford to pay the extra cost of imported goods. It's just the lorries supplying goods for working class that will reduce.

13 miles of lorries isn't that many.

We need to wait until someone can think of something positive about brexit that isn't a lie

Absolutely desperate aren't they. How shameful and doesn't augur well for our future!

'Conservative MEPs have given their support to the authoritarian government of Viktor Orban in a crunch vote in the European Parliament.
Almost all of the politicians representing Theresa May’s party voted against a motion to censure the Hungarian leader, which in the end was overwhelmingly passed.
Their support for the right-wing leader – accused of violating press freedoms, undermining judicial independence and waging an antisemitic campaign against a leading Jewish businessman – was attacked by Ms May’s critics in the UK.'
