Allydowd, thanks for working that out. It felt like we did loads but we all enjoyed it and will do it more often. I can take the boy on his bike there.

I don't know where you live but up here I use WalkHighlands for route inspiration. (Link) There's over 2000 walks, hikes and climbs on it all over Scotland. Really user friendly. There's bound to be similar sites for the other UK regions.

    Hi July-Penny-Jailers,

Weeeeeekend! Had a good week at work! <Faints with shock.>

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:

    THINGS I WILL DO:

    * Check online banking. Done.

    * Check loyalty points. £1.50 Tesco Clubcard Vouchers are in the post to me according to the website. That's mainly from petrol. £1.55 Co-Op points. 47p on Nectar. 38% of the way towards a £5 Morrisons reward...Total £5.42: That's a good haul for doing "nothing" isn't it?

    * Take medication. Done.

    * Turn alarm clock off at the wall til tonight. Done.

    * Get some exercise.

    * Look for cable in PoundShop. Done. They don't have the one I need but they might get one for me tomorrow so I will be patient and not buy one from eBay. I have been meaning to buy a lipstick. (I only own one.) They had two lipsticks for a pound but it was a dark colour and I wanted a pale colour so I resisted. Also got four cans for work for a pound which was a bargain. They also had a big jar of mint sauce that I resisted buying even though it was only 40p. We usually just make our own.

    * Use company loyalty scheme to get 40p off an £10 Asda top-up-able gift card. Done.

    * Might go over the water to see bar a friend has just opened. Went and was given free drinks. Felt guilty so put money in the charity box instead.

    * Check TCB. £2.33 still pending. Just realised two of our local takeaways that we occasionally use give money back through TCB. Must use this!

    * Do final meter readings for the quarter. £85.71. I'm happy with that, we have £109.66 in the account so that's £23.95 saved for the Winter. :T

    Still thinking...

Things don't have to be perfect to be wonderful.

I have tonnes of the thread to catch up on, so big hugs to anyone who needs them.

A busy weekend for me as my parents came up to visit. This is something that I find very draining and trying.

Now they are gone. I did not stress drink, and only stress purchases of 2 books (which I will def read and enjoy) and 2 balls of sock yarn that were down to £2.40 each and will make a pair from each ball.

Didn't eat too much cake either or drink too much coffee.

Today I am looking forward to sitting very quietly and crocheting after work.

    And eating veg.

    Hi again,

So, I have a new money-saving fitness challenge going on: I have signed up to run 25 miles in August. There is a fee, but you do get a t-shirt and a medal for that and I'm more likely to stick to it if I'm doing it "formally".

So how is that money-saving? :p Well, exercise literally keeps me sane and I need to stay sane to be able to work and earn a salary. And the actual running costs nothing as I already have all the kit, if you exclude the cost of washing my kit.

I'm also continuing to see how far I can cycle this year and DW and I are planning a long distance walk.

Actually going to start today to get into the swing of things. Done.

    Hi All,

I hope everyone is doing OK and having a good weekend. My day didn't go to plan but in the big scheme of things it really is a small thing but really impacted my day. I had the intention, after feeding pets first thing, of sitting with my cuppa and sorting through finance spreadsheet for August and getting on top of some paperwork and sorting 3 insurances that are all due for renewal and need to get cheaper with cashback. Seemed a good MSE plan.

Yet, as I moved kitchen bench to sit down, it collapsed on me (needed fixing for a while :o) and its contents - multitude of DCs arts, crafts, books and bits and bobs spilt out everywhere. So 1.5 hours of clearing out, sorting, tidying, hoovering and lumbering pieces of wooden bench out of room (to be fixed later), I decided to tidy my desk. That was helpful but led to me not being able to find a notebook I use for 'to dos' and info that I need, and more time wasted looking for said item and not being successful, and feeling completely disorganised!

So finance spreadsheet still not done, but at least desk is tidy and I took DS1 to lunch (as DS2, DS3 & OH) are away until tomorrow. Nice treat for DS1 & me. Kept it reasonably priced - happy with middle range menu option and decided to have pudding at home. Also, parked further away for free parking and bit of exercise :).

Did weekly food shop on way home and because we were full, we didn't stray too much from the list, spending £55.40 (family 5, & cat food). Will need to top up on milk and little fruit but pleased with total today.

Its nearly the end of the day, so spreadsheet will go to tomorrow. I still have to:

make a stripped bed - DONE
hoover and clean 2 DC bedrooms - DONE: Super clean/tidy - won't last!!
    hoover upstairs - DONE
    and downstairs - TOMORROW
    Walk pooch - SOON
Feed pooch & cat - DONE
Put clean clothes away - DONE
Go for 5k run - TOMORROW!
Joined swagbucks & maximiles - try few surveys - TOMORROW
Also rejoing RM Surveys - so hopefully it wont be long until I can restart and earn some stamps, vouchers

New to ebaying about 6 weeks ago and it is going well - am clearing stuff out of house/making room & making extra £ for holiday fund.

Have a lovely evening fellow MSEs.

    Evening everyone

Haven't done much today, fatigue has really kicked in. Kept to a slow and steady pace.

Had to go out to get cat things, I was really dreading just going out. Had the cat things in my basket and thought I would take a quick mooch round to the reduced section. Had 2 things in my hand when I saw the chap with his ticket machine. I asked when did they reduce to the silly prices. I was about half a hour too early, said with it being a small space, the way some people can be, have been hit by a shopping basket before now being lower down with the wheelchair that I wasn't going too hang around.
He took the items from me and reduced them there and then! I got this cauliflower cheese bacon meal -£2.00 on a special deal, I got it for 12p. Also got back bacon-should have been £4.24 got it reduced to 27p so was well chuffed and had some for my tea and the rest has gone in the freezer.

Banking bits all checked ready for August d.debits going out
Cat cleaning all done and some hoovering done but only main bits

Ordered an extra Christmas present for DD. Have been eyeing it up for a bit. U know I'm a sucker for my discount codes and offers with all the extended family I have to buy for despite trying to reduce it on numerous occasions to no avail so always stick to a budget challenge where not a penny more is spent than the decided budget which really makes me money savvy on getting the best presents at the best prices. I've had some cracking bargains in the past
Managed to get it through quidco and got £8 off with a discount code. It is a foodie present that also comes with an extra £10 cake voucher so know this will keep starving student DD happy.

That's about it from me, resting up now with happy cats........i hope with all the effort in keeping them in the lifestyle they have become accustomed to!!!!!!!!

Have a great evening everyone x

    Evening all :hello:
Sounds like a nice man in Tesco HK - what fabulous yellow sticker bargains :D
I'm another one who has had a very quiet day today. Partly forced - I woke up unwell during the night and struggled to sleep. I haven't managed to have much to eat during the day but I've slept lots and am starting to feel a bit more human again now.
I've watched tv, and I've crocheted lots, and I've also assembled ds new bed. I'm getting too old for assembling flat pack furniture, and I'm well out of shape - I need to take some inspiration from Ally.
