Morning all :hello:
Welcome to the newbies and welcome back stitching witch nice to 'see' you
My list for today:
Meals from stores, making until we need to go shopping as long as possible. Will probably go Thursday as I can't drive for two weeks after that. Will finish meal plan
Check banking
Made a pad to savings
'Buy' a voucher DH got for his birthday, use for something we need for the house. Put paid funds in savings account for something we are saving for
Water garden
Homegrown raspberries (all 4 of them today) for breakfast :rotfl:
Scrub bath (only bit of bathroom I didn't clean yesterday)
Think that'll do for now.0 -
Afternoon everyone
Everything going good except for annoying arm which is slowing me down.
Cat cleaning done first thing
Banking checked-everything good
Booked for a charity parcel to be picked up on Friday, stuff me and DD don't want/need anymore including some beanies and some items I picked up cheap for charity Hopefully items good for their tombolas to raise funds while im getting items out of the house so hopefully a win win situation-must finish packing box up. Did a price comparison and found Herm*s cheaper than everyone else .
Went out to pick up a couple of things ordered in the Boots clearance to find DDs favourite shower gels on clearance. Bought 4 for her and shampoo as apparently her status is still starving student.
Talking of which have the 2 starving students -DD and her BF here with me until today. Have been eating out of stocks, really pleased that the freezer has some room and not overcrammed with food now.
Just about to make some chicken with wedges-have potatoes that really need using up.
Must update spends book, running a couple of days behind so will do that tonight while resting up.
Planning on having a couple of spend free days-don't need anything except for cat litter so more low spend days.
Think that's about it from me
Have a great afternoon everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I'm always more accountable when I write things down. I got everything done that I said I would, and a bit more as well. Whilst I have spent a lot of time sitting on my bum, I have been reasonably productive. We have new keys, new school uniform for dd and her blazer is in for dry cleaning. She is almost done apart from underwear and shoes. DS still needs jumpers, underwear and shoes but I'm really proud of myself getting the uniform out of the way early in the hols, and even more proud that the exam board money is there so I can pay for it.
I also returned the outfit that made me look like a potato and bought a book to entertain me instead. I haven't read anything yet though...
The flat pack furniture remains packed - kids have done even less than me today. Although I did get round to sorting home insurance which is due soon. Went through Meerkat as I know that the meals thing is going to be amazing for us - we do like to dine out and there are loads of restaurants on the deal.
Hoping for a decent night of sleep tonight, and I have absolutely no idea what we're going to do tomorrow. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Breakfast and lunch from stores, hoping DH and I can go out for tea. Will use voucher if we do
Quick tidy round
Have done meal plan, so need to do a small shop today
Message bank details to someone so they can return some funds to me
Feed tomatoes
Pick some raspberries
Triage fridge
Do some work
Update my spreadsheet as utilities DD has gone up. Need to keep an eye on it.
Hope it's not too warm for peeps today. Say safe and hydrated.0 -
Hi Everyone
I haven't posted here in ages, just lurked once in a while. However, I do get inspiration from you all at how organised and clever you are in thrifty ways. Having updated my signature it's clear that I need to spend more time on this thread as I am spending DOUBLE my budget for food and fuel.
So here goes. I am very new to Eb*y selling and I started last month. I have surprised myself at how well it is going. Stuff I have had cluttering up our home that I thought nobody would want, is selling! I haven't totalled what I have made so far as its Eb*ay and local sites so need to tally them both together, but I suspect its over £200 so I am really pleased. I have put all cash and earmarked p*p*l earnings for a family holiday abroad next year. I always say we'll go and then we don't because it's just so expensive for a family of 5. I am also on the look out for preloved camper but that will really take some saving.
Any tips on not always popping to the local co*p would be great as money disappears in there!
Today, aside from parking and an icecream for the boys, it will be a NS day, as am off to the beach with them and a friend and her girls. Picnic and drinks all made. So a day of free fun.
Alas tomorrow, car goes in for new brake pads - so £100 ish there, but essential.
Today I have/will:
Feed pets - a.m. DONE
Water garden from water butt - DONE
Picked some tomatoes - DONE
Compare car insurance quotes and use cashback
Test sensor bin bought only 2 months ago, if still not working, shall email company to sort out.
Quick tidy around
Check emails - DONE
Get FREE takeaway tonight - compensation for upset tummies last week - never had a bad meal from there in 11 years so, fingers crossed.
Meal plan until Sunday when get paid again so can shop, with a meal plan/list!
That will do for now. Have a great day everyone. Keep cool. Also, keep being inspiring xxJan GC £267.47/280, Fuel:£40.60/£40; Cafes: £28.35!!/£20, NSD: ?/20
Walk /10miles/week,
LBM £14,000  01/02/18. Loan: £14960.40/4 years
Emergency: / £1000, Vouchers: One4All £20, HairSalon £50, Caffe Nero £15.62, Pizza Express £90, Other Restaurant £60. DS1 owes camera/car ins.£800.0 -
Morning all,
thanks for all the welcome wishes, it's lovely to feel welcome :-) You guys are awesome!
Word back about the faulty dehydrator, they are sending a replacement which will be with me on Saturday, and they have told me to keep the faulty one! DH is going to take it apart and see if he can fix it, then we can have two! If he can't fix it I can just keep the trays and make one really tall dehydrator with all 10 trays :rotfl:
Made a start on the budget, I'm going to run my month from 28th June to 31st August to make a full 5 week month.
List for today - NSD!! , do surveys, comping, complete my stock check of foods at home, eat packed lunch and read gardening book to avoid the shops, dinner from stores and pudding will be freshly picked berries from the garden

Welcome thrice and chandelier, it's a great thread that keeps me on the straight and narrow:)
:hello: to Newly Frugal Mum and any lurkers
Usual things this morning
Cat cleaning all done
Banking all checked and everything is good
Had to go into town to pick up a prescription
Decided to pop to Morris@ns to get some cat bits and a couple of other bits today instead of tomorrow. So glad I did, it was busy today, staff were saying that Friday's are a nightmare.
Must update spends book, have slipped with this so will do it in a minute
Made the chicken and wedges last night, DD said that the reason DD BF wasn't eating a lot is his family cook with alot of spice. The chicken were already YS spicy chicken fillets so i spiced up the wedges, just used any spice I had and used left over bits. Thought I had overdone it I had steam coming out of my ears:rotfl::rotfl::eek: but clean plates came down and everyone happy. I had made a few too many wedges so leftover ones popped in the fridge for a snack today which I am currently eating now. For me they are really scrummy cold:T
Plan for the rest of the day.....housework:(
Starving uni students will be back on their travels so will def be having a tidy up.
Must get the box ready for tomorrow for pick up.
Can't think of anything else.
Have a great afternoon everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Afternoon,
It's been quite a busy day so far here. The sun is shining and all is well. I didn't manage to get everything done on my to do list yesterday but I'm not too fussed. It can roll onto today's.
Yesterdays to do list.
- Make smoothies with remaining fruit that has gone soft. DONE. All the fruit that had gone soft has now been used up.
- Check online banking. DONE. All done and everything is well.
- Defrost one freezer. DONE. I ended up defrosting two out of three freezers and reorganised so I'm able to see what we have.
- Go to the gym. I didn't end up going as I was tired but I'm okay with that.
- B/L/D from stores. DONE. All meals eaten from home.
- Go for a walk with sons dad. DONE. 5k walk done and completed. I can feel it in my legs today but I enjoyed the woodland walk.
- Clean out fridge. DONE. The fridge was thoroughly cleaned out, reorganised and some food items thrown. Not as much as I thought. The problem is we buy things and forget them.
- Write on reflection for work portfolio. I did not get this done. I have five to complete which I'll try to get one a day done over this next week.
- Pack boys stuff ready to go to his dads for a sleepover. DONE.The boy went to his dads, no problem.
- Go to indoor climbing centre. DONE. We went here in the morning with some family members. The boy loved it and his confidence is growing when climbing.
- Text a few friends/family members for a catch up. DONE. I sent messages to a few family members and friends. At least I'm making the effort to keep in touch.
- Organise freezers into seperate categories. I didn't get round to this. Although I already know what we have in. I'll get round to it at some point.
- Fill one bin bag from my bedroom. I didn't end up doing this as I was so tired. So I'll roll it onto future list
So overall yesterday, I managed to do 10/13 things done on my to do list. I'm happy with that. I'm doing a small amount of jobs whilst also entertaining the boy as well. I feel like I'm at least achieving something, every little bit counts.Chandelier.

Anyway,
So far today has been pretty productive. I woke up mid morning and had some breakfast and then headed off to the gym whilst the boy went swimming with his dad. I managed to do what I wanted to do and then we've come home and I've sorted out lunch for the boy. I'm not quite sure what I'll have yet because I'm not particularly hungry although there is a jacket potato going spare from last night. Maybe I'll have that with tuna or something.
My uncles coming for tea tonight so it is a simple fish and chips on the menu. We will use up the potatoes we have leftover. Since my auntie died around a month ago, he has been coming to us for tea, two nights a week. I think overall he enjoys the company and is keeping himself busy to get through things. It breaks my heart knowing that he is now alone. It was all so unexpected. My auntie died far too young at the age of 66. She was fit and healthy 8 months ago then all of a sudden cancer took her away from us. She is greatly missed.
Anyhow, onto the rest of today. I have quite a few things I want to get done, some of which I've already managed but I'll list them anyway Whether I do them all, we will see.
26/7/18 to do list.
1) Write a reflection.
2) B/L/D from stores.
3) Go to the gym
4) Drink at least 2 litre of water.
5) Do some baking.
6) Check online banking.
7) Go for 5k walk with the boy, friend and her dog.
8) Arrange play date for the boy and his friend.
9) Take meds!
10) Write out first page of my MH action plan.
11) Quick tidy around the house.
12) Fill one bin bag from bedroom.
13) Try on evening dresses.
I've been on the look out for some evening dresses for our upcoming cruise. I'm olive skinned, so have been looking at red dresses. I think I'm going to order 2 or 3 and see what they look like on then pick one. I'll use money from our budgeted holiday fund to cover the cost of these. I'm really hoping at least one will suit me. There is a beautiful red dress which looks amazing and should flatter my figure. Although I already have two evening dresses which I need to try them on to see if they fit. Hopefully with the aim of losing weight, I could possibly fit into these by the end of August and not have to worry about buying anymore. The only other things I want to buy for myself is one or two swimsuits and a white summer dress.
Have a nice day everyone and enjoy the weather.Chandelier.

I'm a bit embarrassed posting this after Chandelier because I have had such a lazy day! My main achievements have included having a shower and making something for us all to eat. But I am tired after another difficult night of sleep. I really feel for those of you living where the temperature is well over 30.
I haven't been out yet, but dd is going out to a party later and I have been asked to taxi. I have no problem with this as she regularly babysits her brother for me, and I want her to know that I will always do that no matter what if she needs me to. That will derail my nsd because ds and his bestie are eating me out of house and home this week and I need more snacks for them. I think I severely underestimated the appetite of 2 nine year old boys... So I'm going to pop to Aldee when I drop dd off later. Not giving up
