Morning all :hello:
Enjoy your festival ally and the rest of your break. I'm on enforced rest after a small op yesterday and will be for a few more days so not much on a list today, however, I'm not able to go anywhere and spend either so not all bad. I still will:
Check online banking
Check just for points cc
Photograph insurance claim documents
Get DH to print off some other documents and see if we can send claim off
Watch lots of tv
Check surveys
Compare breakdown services as DH is due and start rescue say they can't cover the vehicle anymore (despite covering it this year)
Get lots of rest :rotfl:
Get something out of freezer for tea
We've just had some rain here, I do hope we get a bit more as it's desperately needed and would mean we wouldn't have to water the garden later.
Have a good days folks.0 -

Morning all :coffee: :hello:
PF - rest up!
DNMS - enjoy the festival, and ally - hope that work goes ok for you today.
I have had a pretty relaxing week and confess to enjoying the cooler weather today. We had a couple of really good storms yesterday which has cleared the air a bit.
So I finally managed a nsd yesterday, by not leaving the house at all. I felt very lazy but it was nice.
Today's plans are fairly similar... I've done the washing up, folded some clean washing, fed the cats and changed the litter. I also picked bestie up from the garage after she dropped her car there and I'll be taking her to collect it in an hour or so. Then me and ds will head back to hers for a few hours. May just get another nsd if I'm careful...Not giving up

Good Morning All
It's been a busy and frustrating week but we're still trying to keep the faith but sometimes I just want to scream - helping people out (v close family) who don't appear to be helping themselves is driving me crazy - my 15 year old has more common sense and motivation than these "adults". We have no idea what we are up to today as we have eldest grandson here (we thought he was being picked up last night but no-one has been in touch
), tomorrow we have to go and have the other 4 grand-kiddies for the day. Today we will:
Check Bank & made PAD
Wash & Line Dry (not much rain here but was very heavy when it did briefly rain)
Clean/clear front yard
Clean patio doors (so many fingerprints )
Install new printer
Entered a couple of comps
All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer
Checked: Tombola Stars, Lucky Bob, FPL, WinaDinner
Have a great day all x

Morning everyone
DNMS enjoy the festival!
Purps make sure u rest up
Went out first thing to do some chores and then shopping at Tesc@ as the cat food is cheaper by 25p a pack.
Just in the middle of unloading dishwasher. Working later so need to get a few things ready.
Just cashed out an amount at quidco, had bought something in Boots sale so this will cancel it out.
Don't really want to return another item but bought a F@t face set at boots. Can't get a replacement which is what I would like but if u look at the room spray the bottle only came 3/4 full and it stands out so I'm thinking of sending a photo to f. Face and ask if it is supposed to be like this before I return it and say I won't be able to get a replacement to see their response.
Totalled up birthday spends and birthday savings in book last night. I'm on a challenge by a friend, so far doing really good, there is enough in the budget set to get the rest of my mum's birthday present-whatever that may be as she is mission impossible at the minute
Right best get back to the dishwasher
Have a great day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi Weekend Frugalistas,
Hope you are resting Purple Fairy.
Sorry your family is being troublesome, Ziggy.
OK, well today's been useful from a money saving point of view, so here's the list:
*Big Budget Day - reconciled July's budget, set August budget, filled in new month's grocery tracker in my bullet diary, paid our savings piggies or paid the usual sum across to credit card where we had a household item (i.e new kitchen runner, batteries, new doormats, etc) instead.
*Prepped holiday cash bag so I know that we have that money ready to go.
*Paid another 50p into my sealed pot - it's getting quite heavy now.
*Cooked up 4.5lbs redcurrants from my friend's allotment - forgot my jelly bag has a hole in it. Made up a quick replacement using an old clean cotton pillowcase - and guess what? It seems to be working better than the old purpose-bought one! Redcurranty loveliness dripping through bag ready for jamming tomorrow.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch - that's my next job after I've signed off the laptop.
*Did a few surveys - lots of YouGov ones today, I did about 6 in a row.
*Read energy meters & uploaded onto website.
*Filing session - I like to keep all my financial/household admin straight.
*Free fitness today will be yet more bailing out of bathwater via watering cans for watering garden borders - we have had a few minor showers, but nothing like the downpours we were told to expect. Most disappointing.
*Check & water veggies & pick anything else that's ready.
*Knit (the yarn was a gift)
*Plan the rest of my sister's birthday gift - nothing wastes money more than wandering around the shops needing an increasingly urgent gift when one has no plan!
*Baked a sourdough loaf.
*Nobble mr f to talk about this month's budget. It shouldn't be too bad a month, hopefully, but the pressure point is new glasses, dental treatment & vet visit all coming together. Nothing we can't handle, but it's always worth flagging these things up so that the knowledge of them prevents little fritterings like coffees, unnecessary little top-up shops, etc.
OK, must go & get that packed lunch made & then the kettle can go on. No more number-crunching today.
Love to all,
F x2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0 -
Afternoon,
I didn't get all my to do list done yesterday but I'm not too fussed. I've had such a busy week that I think I've exhausted myself.
This is what I've left to do and will try to tackle these over the next few days or so. I've also added a few extras but these are not urgent.
1) Sort out my bank/credit cards and the pin numbers for each and put which ones I need into my main purse.
2) Sort out makeup.
3) Sort out toiletries.
4) Write a couple of reflection.
5) Try on evening dresses.
6) Defrost last freezer.
7) Sort out my shoe collection.
8) Charge my old fitbit that I found.
9) Fill a couple more bin bags from decluttering room.
10) Sort through boys holiday clothes.
11) Sort out travel insurance.
12) Sort out car insurance.
13) Sort out my holiday clothes.
14) Go to the gym at least 3x a week.
15) Write another meal plan for next week.
16) Write a list of what we need for holidays.
17) Order a couple of dresses/clothes I've seen for our upcoming cruise.
18) Arrange something with my friend for Monday.
I've been putting quite a bit of pressure onto myself and need to slow down a bit with all that I'm doing. I need to realise I don't need to do it all at once and theres always tomorrow. I just find that I want to keep myself busy and I'm juggling what time I have available to do thinhs whilst also trying to entertain the boy. There needs to be some happy medium and I'm trying to find this.
Allydowd, thanks for working that out. It felt like we did loads but we all enjoyed it and will do it more often. I can take the boy on his bike there.
We've been to one of the boys friends birthday party this morning so I just put £10 in a card for him.
In regards to birthdays, I read a tip from someone a while back to take advantage of card offers e.g. 6 for £1 and stock up to avoid last minute card buys and to save money. So at the beginning of the year I worked out who's birthdays I have upcoming throughout the year and bulk bought a variety of cards for any occasion. I think I spent £5 in total but I now have a collection of cards and always have one to hand. It's not that last minute rush of buying one and I'm less likely to forget.
We were suppose to go our local theme park with friends today but the weather was awful so we decided not to. I'll rearrange a catch up with said friend another time. I'm quite glad in some ways because I need some wind down time as we also have a 40th party to attend tonight which no doubt will be another late night.
All I have planned for tomorrow is the boys ice skating lessons in the morning. I'm not making any other plans just yet. I need a bit of a break.
Have a good weekend everyone.Chandelier.

I did manage quite a bit yesterday considering my mood wasn't great.
We met up with my friend for lunch which ended up quite spendy but it was a one off and the weather was lovely.
I managed to return an item that I had bought that I didn't need and hopefully that money will come back to me by the end of next week. I kept putting this task off but finally did it and feel much better for doing so.
I'm just tired now and need to find my mojo again.Chandelier.
