One more day to do - the heat is doing for me. After work had to go to Meadowhall - we have two staff leaving and one getting married and the other staff member who would normally have done collections off on long term sick means I have been lumbered with all 3. Two of them are getting cash and one a Meadowhell voucher which can only be bought from Meadowhell. And I had to split it into two purchases because I forgot my pin. She's only been with us a year. While there I sourced the final £10 book voucher for 100% attendance. It's the Y6 leavers party tomorrow and assembly - this is the class I was thrown into when they were Y2 because the teacher walked out...and I was their TA the following year and job share teacher the following year and PPA cover teacher last year...chances are I will howl like a baby tomorrow.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Mr LW has decluttered a call to the hospital to chase his diagnosis letter; he can't get his Dopamine prescribed til he has this. Apparently it's been typed, but not yet sent.
Meanwhile GP is trying Montelukast for his two-year-old persistent cough.

FREEDOM!
Freedom to sleep in (not that I will, most likely), freedom to drink gin for breakfast, dinner and tea (if I wanted), freedom to drink an entire cup of tea whilst it's still hot - and freedom to have a pee exactly when I need to.
Popped in to see a member of the catering team that is being made redundant and let her know about a vacancy I spotted for another school - and got a hug for my trouble.
Refused to sniffle when some kids came to find me to say goodbye. Two are never to return so wanted to hug me to say thanks, one is coming back in September, but wanted a hug anyway.
Dealt with one kid who kicked off because that's what he does, whatever the circumstances.
Avoided the cuter little ones who are leaving because I refuse to sniffle in front of others.
Completely blitzed the office to [strike]avoid as much of the speeches as possible[/strike] ensure that it is nice and tidy for the incoming staff member. Mistimed it and still had to sit through all the speeches, as they took way too long drinking Prosecco out of plastic cups to start on time.
Didn't sniffle for any of those, because they're grownups. And I hadn't been necking the Prosecco because I was still [strike]avoiding them[/strike] working.
Finally escaped, perched on a wall with one I actually like who is leaving as she was waiting for her bus, got a hug, came home - and had my first gin.
We've had them all for at least 7 hours a day for 38 weeks, up to 15/16 hours a day on occasion (and 24 on residentials), en masse. Over to you, parents. Enjoy!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
