Had Xiaomi phones for 3 years, never had a problem. Go for the Note 5, £170 for the 64gb, or £149 for the 32gb(amazon black friday)
Argos now sell Xiaomi phones0 -
How do these Chineses phones compare to Samsung guys?
Wife and I have had Samsung for years so very familiar with our phones and can see that Amazon have Samsung Galaxy J4 Plus Sim-Free for £149 and wondered if that looks like good value or not?
Don't need latest model etc and have S5 minis (both of us have same phone).
On SIM only deals with Plusnet so just looking at seeing if there is value in upgrading phones around this Black Friday time of year and if the deals kicking around are actually genuine or just a selling tool to draw us in.
If any other good value handsets around for the £150-200 mark then also consider these as happy to put up with a bit of change for a good value for money deal.0 -

Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite - (Dual SIM) 32GB 5.84-Inch Android 8.1 UK Version SIM-Free Smartphone - Blue (Official UK Launch)
Deal of the Day at Amazon: £129.99

I personally don't buy a brand new phone, but this phone is for everybody! Last couple of years, smartphone became really powerful. Performance improve, the price should be down! Stop spending silly money.
This budget phone is actually one of the most secure smartphone in the world, the users have alreary received 11.2018 security update. Because of ANDROID ONE DEVICE, directly supported by Google. you will get the latest security update timely. You will get the Android 9/Pie soon.
At 2018/19, hardware became powerful enough. Let's focus on software support and actual user experiences.
Still not sure ? Read @Colin_Maybe posting here.
If you buy this, I really want to take care of this phone for 5 years at least :A0 -

You can't compare phones from a country anyway, it has to be phone to phone.
Generalisation and thought I had clarified further in my post.
Happy to move away from Samsung and also now read Toshi's posts regarding bloatware etc so will look more closely at what I have previously thought were just risky options from Chinese suppliers.0 -

For anyone interested in this, please note that a clear silicon protective case is also in the lid of the box. Worth knowing as I had already been looking into cases and screen protectors so just the screen protector to source now.0
