DS had his first day at Sixth Form and he said he enjoyed it 😁. Thought he would be nervous this morning but he was quite calm and left to catch the bus early. Hopefully it continues. It has been odd without them here. Just me, the cat and Sam FM 😆. I am sure the cat is still sulking with us about the weekend, just can't work out if she's annoyed we left or that we came back 🤣. My sister fed her and said she looked annoyed whenever she walked in.Got home and the silence was deafening. House is tidy but did some cleaning, sorted the kitchen cupboards out, hoovered and sorted all the washing. Then cleaned and packed away all the garden toys and fire pit, did the weeding, cut brambles, turned the compost, swept the catio out and prepped a roast dinner and it was still only 12.30 😭 time went so slow! Luckily my brother then rang so spoke to him for over an hour. Was so glad when they all got home. Least I have work tomorrow.DS heard back today that he has a job interview on Saturday for a weekend job at a local farm shop. He's applied for quite a few recently and this is the first he's heard back from, so that's a step in the right direction.SPC 0763

Hi Robin
Oh yes, these boys do seem to like their beds during the day. DS is like a hamster, he only comes alive at night lol. His first day back was fine although he didn't get to see his friends as they're all in different forms and were all let out at slightly different times and herded straight off the premises. He soon caught up with them on the Xbox though!
Well done to your DS on his results, he should be very proud of himself. Some of the things you've written about your DS I can relate to with my DD. She had counselling in her final year at school and became so anxious in social situations I used to have to go and pick her up at lunchtime because the thought of being in an environment with loads of people was too much for her to cope with. She just about made it through classes because it was a 'controlled' setting. She's on medication and is much better but still has 'flare ups'. It's sad, worrying and if I'm being honest sometimes it's also frustrating because she used to be really outgoing. It doesn't help that she says there's no trigger to watch for, a panic/anxiety attack just washes over her. But on the plus side, she has good friends, got through college and is at Uni so she's navigating her way through life mostly doing OK.
I've subscribed to your diary, so I'll be reading along. Have a lovely weekend. xx

Hope your daughter got on well on her interview. DS said his seemed to go okay. 56 people applied and 8 were being interviewed, was told he will find out this week when they've finished the others. All good experience if he doesn't get it anyway. Would do him good to have a little weekend job though.Thank you, Tea. Sorry to hear your DD has had struggles too 🙁. My DS is on medication too and seems to be doing okay at the moment. His low moods can come out of nowhere but strangely I can usually sense when he's about to have a panic attack before it starts, well if I'm with him anyway. It's early days but he is enjoying Sixth Form as it's the subjects he wants to do and enjoys. It's sad, as like you say about your DD, he was never always like this.SPC 0764

Getting back into a routine now. DD is full of it and loving every moment of being back. DS has enjoyed his lessons and likes it at Sixth Form. Because of applying late and then lockdown, he never had chance to even look around but said it is nice there. He isn't really enjoying the bus journey, specially as the bus broke down yesterday but he said it is fine. He may catch the train home some days as his timetable ends at lunch.Went out on Sunday to a local(ish) Castle with DD, my brother and nephew. Never been to this one before and DD thought it was the best one she's been too, so we will be going back. Get free entry with my EH pass. But I pulled a muscle in my leg walking up the spiral stairs to the top of the tower and still aching today.Paid MIL £150 back so now £1350/£1500, hoping to give her some more when I get paid.Got tomorrow off so going to see BF, haven't seen her since the Friday before bank holiday and feels like ages, will be the first time in a long time we will have a coffee in peace 😁☕.SPC 0764

Hi Robin
Glad your DC's are enjoying school and 6th Form. Sounds like a lovely day out visiting the castle. We used to do lots of things like that when the DC's were younger, I probably enjoyed it more than they did
That's a good chunk of money paid to your MIL. Hope the muscle pain eases up and you have a lovely time with your BF. xx

That's fantastic news, DAL. I bet she is very pleased. Jobs around here are few and fair between for young people these days (the big chains like that are a 40 minute drive away) When I was 15 I had 3 jobs at one time, one of which I still work at now 😐 so I have been there 18 years now, well 16 if I take into account what I had off when I had the children. DS hasn't heard anything yet, but we will see. I'm still proud he took himself out of his comfort zone to try and he's done it now, he can do it again when something else pops up.Thanks Tea. Yes, had a lovely day at the castle. Have dropped DS off there quite a few times with Scouts but had never went to look around. DD thought it was great, she loves anything like that. During lockdown she got very interested in taking photographs and she took some really good shots there and really enjoyed it

Had a lovely day with BF yesterday
had to stop off on the way home to grab some cat litter and saw some nice little bits that I bought to put away for Christmas.
When I got back DH and next door had started to cut the boundary hedge. It has been needing doing for ages but we was out there hours sorting it out and still didn't get it done. We ended up getting sausage and chips as none of us had time to cook anything. Today I knew I needed to do some more, so sorted the slow cooker out before I left. When I got back I got cutting all the big branches that wouldn't fit in the bags, my arms will feel that tomorrow. Finished that one when DH got home. Will do the other on the weekend, that's an easier one so won't take too long.Had to ring the dentist this morning to try and get DD an appointment as her tooth is hurting. Had to have a phone consultation with the dentist first, so they rang when I was at work and they said she needs to go in, but can't do until Tuesday 😔. Her dentist did say that hopefully she will be able to continue with her normal appointments soon as she goes every 3 months as she has enamel hypoplasia and has already had lots of work done to them. We had hoped that her adult teeth wouldn't be affected, but they are 😩.Good news for her though is she has a space at Gymnastics, we put her name on the waiting list last year. She is very athletic and extremely flexible but has taught herself and I worry she will do damage to herself if she doesn't learn the proper ways to do it. She is very excited to start.Have to pop back back to BF's tomorrow. I ordered a needle felted elephant for a birthday present for my nephews partner. Well, I got it out today to take it with me and I forgot it, left it on the side and the cat has obviously had fun with it. It's a very sad and scraggly looking elephant now 🙈. She thinks she should be able to sort it out 🤞.SPC 0764
