Wow, didn't it rain today?! The colours around the forest are beautiful now though. Amazing thunder and lightning storm going on now, it is so loud! Glad to be in for the evening.
Work this morning, DD is so glad not to have to come with me for a while now. Then we went to wave off best friends DD who is off on school residential. We got absolutely soaked through waiting so popped back to hers to dry our clothes.
Took out £30 today. £20 to buy my nephew some Euros for his birthday as he's off to Milan next week. And £10 to sponsor my sister in law for a hike she's doing for Macmillan this month. Got the Euros but when I got home I'd lost the other £10just hope someone who is in need of it found it.

What a shame about the Euros
Have a good weekend x"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Thanks Jwil, yes very annoying to lose the money but never mind, just hope it came in handy for someone.
Busy weekend with work and the twins christening. Not a religious person but I do love going to church just to sing the hymns :rotfl: reminds me of primary school. Was nice seeing most of DH's side of the family, most of who we only see if someone is born or dies
Been nice to be back in work without my shadow this week. I'm grateful that I can take her but we are both glad that she's back at school. She was up at 5am yesterday morning raring to go back.
Have had school related spends for DS's school trip and revision guides. Athletics is carrying on for now, so DD is pleased. She went up a stage at swimming today, so was chuffed about that tooSPC 0760 -

Thanks Jwil, she's really looking forward to going up to the next stage next week.
So, I'm creeping back in with a confession. This week has ended up being a very big spend week, probably the most expensive we've had in a long long time.
We bought a kitten for DS, he has always wanted a cat since he was little but I do suffer from allergies so haven't really given it much thought but have read how therapeutic they can be for people with bad anxiety and low mood so we have been researching which ones may be best for that and also not to bring my allergies up. So we did spend out on a certain breed and all the bits we needed for a new cat. My dad paid half towards the kitten, but our half was still £150plus the extra bits. They have bonded really well and I'm glad we did it. Will need to sort out injections and pet insurance etc, we knew it was a big decision to make and although I've not mentioned it on here, it's not been a rash decision.
The spends didn't end there either, we have had a shopping trip planned for a while to take DS for new clothes as he hardly had anything that fit again. So I got the train to town with him today and overall we spent about £160 on clothes for him, a few bits for DD and a father day gift for my dad and a few other bits.
Savings have took a big hit but still around the £1000 mark, will need to sit down and double check it all.
I have confessed to all my sins now :rotfl:SPC 0760 -
That's really lovely to get a kitten for DS
. I'm sure he'll find it very therapeutic to have that bond. What breed of cat did you get? I'd love to have a cat but I'm allergic to them and so is DS1 and DS2.
We bought a rabbit for DS2 when he was very depressed and he still loves the furry moron.

We got him a ragdoll kitten. They do not have an undercoat so can be better for people with allergies and so far so good, he has not bought mine up. They also love lots of attention and cuddles and they have bonded so well, he really is over the moon, the smiles have been worth it already
love that your DS still loves his rabbit

Congratulations on the new addition
I wouldn't be without my furball, there's nothing more soothing than when she's curled up next to me/on me/around me, purring away in her sleep. Hope you have many happy years together

Thank you both
the little one has settled in really lovely, had her first check up today and all is well. Apart from that we thought we had a boy and the vet said it's still hard to tell but she's pretty certain it's a she, going to double check next week when we go for injections. Plus my allergies did not cope well sat in the vets for 40 minutes
. Her first check up today was free. She loves snuggling up with DS
Went out yesterday to a charity event at the local private estate that is only open to the public a few weeks of the year, really beautiful there. Did have spends but was below £10.
Today's spends were just £1 for athletics.SPC 0760
