Thankyou all! Just realised how long since my last update, although I have been online I have been immersed in a long diary on here that I have never read before, has been a nice distraction.
So, DS decided to go back into school today, he seems to be doing okay. Will be having meetings about his options going into year 11. He will be dropping triple science and business. He missed a few mock exams, waiting to hear if he will have to do them another time. We did find out today he got an 8 in higher maths on his mocks. I don't think last week was all down to school stress, he really needs to find ways that work for him to get through the bad days.
Wish I could say everything else has been going okay.. Oh I really wish I could. Unfortunately not, DH had an accident in his garage and sliced straight through the tendon in his little finger  _pale_ Lots of trips to Southmead and he is back in tomorrow for day surgery to sort it out. He will have to have time off work, the surgeon said today 6-8 weeks but I very much doubt DH will sit still for 6-8 hours before he's doing somethinghe's quite annoyed with himself for all the fuss over a little finger, bless him.
I also lost my bank card, least it will stop any spending for the next 5 days while I wait for a new one. Will definitely be a tight month next month.
Some good stuff -
DD is getting all geared up to going into year 2 and is very excited and she loved her first session in her new swimming group. She also enjoyed her first sleepover at my brothers this weekend, she loved spending time with her cousin and they took her out doing fun stuff.
DS has seemed a lot calmer the lot few days, but very close eye being kept. Also received the forms about his trust fund and there is over £950 in there.
The little kitten is beautiful and a little bit crazy, have never seen something jump around so fast, she is very cute and settled in lovely :happyhear
Our lovely elderly neighbour is home. He's been gone since February and try as I might, I couldn't find out where he'd gone. He'd gone to a care home for a while but is back for now.
Wow, a long post. Need to get back into daily posting. Hope everyone is well.SPC 0760 -
Oh and a little story that made me laugh. A while back I ordered DS a book he wanted off the auction site. Looked at the cover when it arrived and handed it over. Left them good feedback as all seemed well and didn't think no more of it. Until last night he came down to show me that when he got to the middle of the book, it had half missing. Like someone had started to make one of those 'book safes' and got bored :rotfl: I am getting a refund, so will buy it him again as he was enjoying it. Will teach me not to double check.SPC 0760

I'm glad DS seems better now, I hope he can find some good coping strategies to help him in the future.

Thank you HHOD. Yes, we are hoping DS will find a coping strategy that will work for him. As much as we'd do anything to help him, he has to help himself aswell.
Poor DH, he's more worried about having time off work than the fact his tendon is in sliced in half  we have savings so will be okay and we can start them up again. Depending how he gets on tomorrow, we are thinking of ringing stepchange to request a month or two off.
Another good thing I forgot to add, he found his wedding ring on the weekend. In the bag of frozen peas :rotfl:SPC 0760 -
Glad DS is feeling a bit better. Ouch to DH!
That's funny about the book, I don't generally check the inside either
Great news about the wedding ring! I think I threw mine out with a nappy onceI lost my engagement and wedding rings, found my engagement ring when it fell out of little jwil's clothing, but never found the wedding ring

Thanks Jwil. DH was so chuffed to find his wedding ring. A few years back I put my engagement ring into the local jewellers for the diamond to be refitted and they lost it  was so upset as DH had sold his guitars to pay for it and I really loved that ring. They offered me the choice of compensation or a replacement ring. Didn't see the point in a ring that had no meaning, so I opted for compensation and spent it on a giant climbing frame, a swing set, a new fence and garden furniture :rotfl:. What a shame you never found your wedding ring.
DH was up bright and early to get to southmead for 7am this morning. My dad took him and waited as he had to have general anesthetic so had to have someone to bring him home. They had to cut his hand open as the tendon was down by his wrist  he's got a cast and a big foam sling. Back for his 1st physio on Friday. He thinks he will have one week off and be back at work, will wait and see on that one.
Popped to see my mum for the morning, was nice to see her without my dad there. I know that probably sounds mean as he helps us alot but he can be hard work too and was nice to chat alone with her. After that went to see best friend for a coffee and she waxed my eyebrows and sorted my hair.
DS has found out a few more mock results. 6 for French and English and a 5 for chemistry. Considering he thought he was failing the lot, just proves he's too hard on himselfhe will be dropping triple science and doing combined. Still waiting to hear if he needs to take the ones he missed. He had no meeting today as his counseller is on holiday for the week.

Good to see you back Robin. Sorry to hear it's been another tough week at yours however you sound really positive about it all.
Have a lovely weekend xx0 -
Thank you both
Been a hot busy few days back in work, trying to catch up after having a week off, won't be having any more for a while. DH had his 1st pyshio session and got given exercises to do. He has to go weekly for 3 months. Think he's realising that he won't be going back into work as soon as he had hoped. Things are going to be really tight and we will probably work our way through all our savings pots, but it is what it is. Things will right themselves in the end, I'm sure. He's feeling very frustrated not being able to do hardly anything, specially not playing the guitar is getting to him. He's not one to sit still and I'm pretty sure he will be doing my head in by next week :rotfl:
Before any of this happened, DS decided to keep his bedroom instead of swapping with us, so we were half way through stripping wallpaper and taking his wardrobe apart. So now he's got an absolute disaster of a bedroomwe have paint here and I will have to do the best I can with him, he understands I probably won't do as good as job as DH and he will need to wait for the new bits we were going to get.
Need to sit down and do July's budget, and figure out what we can do to cut back.
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine. I hide away from it, but love it to get the washing drySPC 0760 -
Think everyone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. DH was tossing and turning and up and down all night so was mopping about tired and in pain
I was tired as I was listening to him all night. The DC bickered all morning. Left them too it and sorted out the garden. It's been a bit neglected lately but picked some lovely strawberries and raspberries, will be lovely with my granola in the morning
the DC did make up and watched a film together.
Budget done, scaled right back. Have my sisters birthday this week, but bought her present ages ago. Have to order my nephew a gift but luckily it's a quiet month for birthdays. I did have a day out planned with DS and my sisters but will have to talk to them and probably drop out as could do with not paying for the tickets and train fare. DH is going to ring stepchange tomorrow to ask for a couple of months off. A shame as this month's payment would have taken us into the £14,000's, never mind we will catch up.SPC 0760
