Sorry to hear that DS is struggling, but how lovely of your family to rally around so you can still go to the concert :T :T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Thanks both, really looking forward to going and so grateful they all worked out a way to help me get there and home in time
NSD 10 today. Just went to work and went to best friends for coffee. Have felt so tired today, was glad not to have to go back out after school again. Think we are all ready for the half term.SPC 0760 -
Had the day off work yesterday, but between taking DS to meetings, catching up with my sister, going to vote and cleaning the house, I didn't get much of a rest.
Was quite quiet at work today though and didn't have much else to do today, so spent some time sorting the garden out before school pick up. It's half term again :j DD is off for two weeks, DS just the one.
Spends yesterday and today. My friend dropped my Avon order off yesterday so that was £8, but have a new under bed storage bag for DDs roomtodays spends were £2 for DD to take into school to donate to a girl who is cutting her hair off for charity, and £10 for school photos. DS has bought a school trip form home, £28 for a theatre trip so will pay that when he goes back. Hoping for NS's this weekend.
Sold some more Lego sets today for £50, which have been collected and paid for. Plus, DS took photos off all my ornaments so will get them up for sale too.
Hope everyone has a lovely Bank Holiday weekendSPC 0760 -
Haven't updated in quite a while...
Have been real busy and not feeling the best either. I'm not quite sure why but I've been feeling exhausted and very achy and bluergh, maybe a virus?
Had a great night out with my sister in law at the Spice Girls concert on Monday. With train tickets and some drinks before the show, I spent just under £30. Tuesday was DS's meeting so I got home early to go to that, meeting went well. Been busy at work so DD has been in with me every day apart from Tuesday this week, afterwards we've been going out with friends or for walks as its quite boring for her to be spending her holidays at work, still a week to go too. Last night we went to the cinema with friends to watch Aladdin, enjoyed that. DS went off with his friend to another cinema to watch Godzilla, so gave him money towards that. So a few spends this week. Ended the month on 13 NSD's, had hoped for more.
Had work today but DD went to best friends and they had their pool out so she was happy. DS had a friend over. DH was out at a tattoo convention, he had free tickets from work.
Sold all the Lego sets DS wanted to get rid of, after we had the money back for paying for the spare parts, he made £135.
I've also sold two of my ornaments for £30. Someone collecting two more tomorrow for £25 and someone collecting one on Tuesday for £18. Have about 12 more to sell I think. I've decided this money in going into a new pot for Passports. Mine and DH's need renewing, as will DS's soon. DD has never had one. DS finishes secondary school next year and would love to go abroad when he finishes his GCSE's. I've been tempted to empty the Debt paydown pot so many times this week to go towards it  being strong for now
Hope everyone has had a nice week.SPC 0760 -
Well done on all the sales :T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

well done on keeping strong. sometimes you have to use an EF/savings fund, but more often than not, if you just wait or find savings from somewhere else you get what you need just a bit later
delayed gratification is very MSE :money:. I'm not very good at it - always some clever wheeze or other - when alms always it would have been better to have just waitedI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine0 -
Well done on the sales of your ornaments, that's a really good way to raise money for the passports
.
I hope you get over your virus soon, I've been feeling ill for most of half term and it's very annoying. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Thanks Jwil, I'm glad to get them out of the way now as they've been sat on the dresser for weeks. It's nice and tidy again now
I definitely will be keeping my hands out of the pot mark88. Going to raise the money by selling stuff and doing extra hours at work when I can. We've always fancied doing the hiking trails at Plitvice Lakes, so this is our aim. Just might mean not adding much to the DPD pot for a while.
Thanks HHOD. At one point I really enjoyed collecting these ornaments but then I didn't want to carry on and I packed them away. No point them sitting in the cupboard so may aswell get rid of them for some extra penniessorry to hear you've been feeling ill too. Bet the half term has sped by for you.
Day at home today, it was so nice not to have to get up and do anything. Had a chilled morning but decided to have another sort out upstairs, it's been raining and grey but so warm, I was boiling. My sister, niece and their partners turned up unexpected. Had to laugh because everytime my nieces partner has been here, I'm always in my pyjamas and today was no different :rotfl: they stayed for a couple hours and was nice to see them all. Carried on sorting out when they left and filled some bags for the charity shop.
The two ornaments were collected for £25 so we have enough for DD's passport already:j
Spends today was for a birthday card for my nephews 21st this month. Have a code so got it £1.98 and my next card free. Got him a personalised one with a poem I wrote when he was born. I was 11 at the time and it often gets bought up in conversation for how cheesy it is, so I couldn't resist :rotfl:SPC 0760 -
DS back to school today. DD still has another week off so she was back at work with me. Went to see best friend afterwards so the girls could have a play before hers go back to school tomorrow. Also popped into see my MIL and the twins. It is their christening this weekend, so ordered them a little gift.
Sold another ornament today, collected for £10. Two more being collected for £18 and one for £8, would have been able to get more for this but I dropped it a while back and broke the arm, was honest about the damage so was happy to get anything for that one. Passport pot will be up to £91 when they've gone, so filling up nicely.
Back into work tomorrow and then hopefully go for a nice walk. Going to Matilda tomorrow evening so there will be spends for extra petrol and probably some snacks.SPC 0760 -
Matilda was fab! We all really enjoyed it. Spends for extra petrol and parking. Plus I spent £6 on snacks and drinks to take it with us. A special offer in the theatre was 5 drinks for £18, one of the options was a bottle of water
Had the day off yesterday and today. Yesterday me and DD went for a nice walk and to the park. DS had a meeting this morning, dropped him back to school and then DD had to go to the dentist to have another tooth out. She has had constant trouble with her teeth since the moment they popped outthe adult teeth she has got seem a lot stronger so far, thankfully. Spends today will be for the tooth fairy.
