Glad you had a good weekend"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Thanks Jwil, hope you had a nice Bank Holiday weekend too.
Ended up in A and E for a few hours last night with my nephew. Who told him to go back to the doctors. So took him to the doctors this morning, who sent him straight to a different hospital. Waited for hours to be told he has to go back tomorrow to see a specialist. it's breaking my heart seeing him in so much pain and not being to help at allThey did take bloods today, so fingers crossed they show some answers.
Spends today on Piriton (£5) for DD and a birthday cake and candles (£7) for DS. The last piece we needed to complete the lego sets come, so will put them up for sale by the weekend hopefully.SPC 0760 -

Thanks Jwil. He has been admitted into hospital today and has to stay in for a least a week to have intravenous antibiotics. They have diagnosed ezcema herpeticum. He has always suffered bad with his ezcema but this basically means the herpes virus has attacked him too and his whole body and face is covered in cold sores :eek::( he is such a shy young man anyway and it's been horrible to see him so self conscious and in such pain. Hopefully he will be feeling much better soon. Will try and get up to the hospital over the weekend.
Just got everything ready for DS's birthday tomorrow. He made me laugh because he's acting like he isn't bothered at all about it but I saw him peaking through the living room glass doors when I was in there sorting it out :rotfl:

Hope your nephew is on the mend soon.
Happy birthday to DS.
Glad you got the car fixed xx0 -
Thanks both.
Nephew is very poorlyhe has a bad fever and they are struggling to get his temp down. His heart rate is very elevated too, so his body is obviously putting up a good fight. He is on anti viral meds and antibiotics, so we can only hope they start to help soon.
DS has enjoyed his birthday so farloved his theatre tickets and his other gifts we got him. He had a good day at school and bought home lots of cards and gifts home from friends. Still have some family to see but he already has a pile of gifts and nearly £200 in money. He's been very lucky indeed. We are going to have Chinese takeaway for tea tonight.
After work today, popped to see best friend, she waxed my eye brows and had a quick coffee. Put the lego up, have someone coming tomorrow for one set, sold for £30 so hope she turns up. Have another 6 sets to sell.SPC 0760 -
Stuffed full of Chinese and feeling happy that DS has had a nice birthday
can't believe our boy is 15 already.
I may have mentioned that we were young when we had DS (we were 17) Thinking back, we had so much judgement and the feeling that everyone was waiting for us to fail. Sure, we've made mistakes and could have done some things differently but it is what it is and I'm very proud of our little family. From the midwifes treating us horribly, to the snide comments off mainly random strangers, I think we are doing okay. Sure, he is having some problems at the moment but I'm coming to accept that it is not from our doing, but he is loving and kind, smart, has lovely friends and family and has a wicked sense of humour. And I know we will always do our best by them both.
Because of the age gap between DS and DD (15 & 6) I've had many people assume that they have different dads. One of the reasons for the gap was we wanted to be better prepared and not to be relying on benefits (yes, we still do get some but until DH got his first full time job at 19, it was what we lived on) and to be better prepared financially - well not everything can be perfect :rotfl:
We was married when we had DD, and it was a totally different experience to how people treated us. We still get the 'look' when someone asks how old our children are and you can see them figuring it out. I still don't know why it bothers people so much, specially when they aint even a part of our lives. Would surely be boring if we were all the same! Would I change anything? Not a chance! I truly am blessed with beautiful children and a DH who loves us all :smileyhea
Whoops, waffled on a bit there :cool:SPC 0760 -
That's shocking that people have made that assumption just because of age gap, although a question I often get asked is whether mine have the same dad because there are more children that most families.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

what a lovely post - we are all different, and you seem to have made it all work for yourself, whatever challenges you have behind the scenes (and we all have them). we had 4 under 5!! we may have got some looks when we trundled into town, but TBH we didn't notice, and didn't care.I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
