Thanks both. It is crazy how fast this year is going. Can't believe DS is going to be 15 next week  May's budget all done. Better than last month and if we are careful we should be able to top up the savings pots. Helped by my brother saying he would pay for one of DS's meetings per month :A
Could have upped my weekly money back up to £20 but have decided to keep it as £10 for now. Most weeks I have managed to put some change is my sealed pot so am getting on okay with just £10. Also have still been managing to save the other £10 a week for the sealed pot, will look forward to opening that in November
DD had swimming after school. DS came straight home and had a nap, lots of after school and weekend rehearsals have been tiring for them all. It was the first performance today for local primary schools and apparently it went well. Looking forward to going to watch it after hearing about it for so long and having his room full of his friends practising
I would like to keep track of my NSD's in May again, has haven't done it this month at all.SPC 0760 -
Was meant to have the day off work today, but had a message last night asking me to go in. Had wanted a whole day at home to clean the house, never mind.
DS had his appointment after school, went well. I dropped him back to school after for a performance tonight. Need to go back out at 9.30 to pick him up.
Had to pop to the shops to get some new laces as one snapped on DS's school shoes. While I was there I picked up wrapping paper and cards for his birthday. Also a gift voucher for my nieces birthday. So not a NSD but apart from the shoe laces, all budgeted for.SPC 0760 -
I hope they enjoyed the Avenger film, everyone seems to be seeing it at the moment, my DH and DS1 one went this afternoon
.
I think swopping the bedrooms over is a great idea. We have the whole house to put our belongings in but the DC only have their bedrooms.
I hope the lego sets sell well. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

They did enjoy it, thank you
they have both seen all of the Avengers films, I've only seen two of them so I am not that interested. Hope your DH and DS enjoyed it too.
Yes, I agree! Their bedrooms are their own space where they can chill out. DD has the little tiny room but she is happy with it, she has a Harry Potter theme going on at the momentI think DS could do with some extra space though, specially wall space as he loves his posters and photos on the walls. Will need to decorate and get some new shelving units, so going to try swap over in the next few months.
Just waiting for one more part to complete the last set that he wants to sell and we will put them up for sale. He still has lots of sets, mainly Harry Potter which he has mentioned he may pass onto DD. He has always loved Lego, he has always just built it once or twice and then displayed it. Where DD loves her drawer of loose Lego and building whatever she fanciesSPC 0760 -
Went to pick up DS last night from the performance. On the way home, someone flashed me over and all my brake lights had stopped working  I was only down the road from home so quickly got it home. DH had a look and said the brake switch had gone.
My dad gave me a lift into work this morning, and DH had found the part we needed so my dad picked me up again and took me to pick it up, so £12 spent. So should be all good to go again when he's home.
Going to see the performance tonight, so will be getting home about half 10, will have to walk it if for any reason the car is still out of action.
Not going anywhere tomorrow, so may have better luck getting a NSD.SPC 0760 -
Car all fixed! Literally took DH less than 5 minutes and the brakes were working as they should, thankfully as I was only without it for one morning but it really is such a pain not to have use of the car.
Went to the school production of Beauty and the Beast. They all did absolutely amazing! DS was in charge of the sound backstage and did a fab job. Some of the kids performing I have known since they were at nursery school and they have all grown up so much. I felt really proud of them all. I was excited to see Belle's performance as I know the girl playing her is an incredible singer, she didn't disappoint at all.
One bad point is that smoke machine set me off coughing and I can feel my chest starting to feel bad yet againleast we didn't have to walk home.

Great that the brakes were an easy fix :T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Thanks Jwil. I was glad that it was a quick fix as it makes things so much harder around here without a car. So glad DH knew straight away what the problem was and could change the part over as soon as he was home. Plus, I was being lazy and didn't want to walk home last night :rotfl:
Finally have a whole day at home that I can get the house cleaned, but currently lacking the motivation to get up and do it. Will have one more coffee and I WILL get it done. Hoping it brightens up outside so I can get washing on the line.
DD has a doctors appointment this evening, and I need to pop to the chemist to pick up my prescription, my inhaler ran out last night so can't put that off.SPC 0760 -
DH is helping his brother on a job this weekend. I had to work today aswell so DD was coming with me and we had planned to meet best friend after to take the girls to the woods and park. But DH had forgot to mention until last night that his mum was taking DD out again today.
Still went out with best friend after work and then popped to see my sister for a while. DD had a nice time at soft play with her cousins. Did offer to pay for her but it was turned down.
Having my nephew over for the day tomorrow. Will probably stay at home and just play in the garden as he is 2 and his behaviour is quite temperamental :rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a nice Bank Holiday.
As planned, had my nephew over for the day yesterday, he was good as gold. I do enjoy having him more now he is starting to talk. Used to have him a lot when he was a baby but not as much now so was nice to have him over. Not planned was a trip to the pub when they got back. There is a good outdoor play area at a local one so we went there. I was going to say no but they were meeting with friends I haven't seen in a while so decided to go along too. So about £18 spent on drinks and snackswas nice to see everyone though.
Today, we have just been at home apart from DS who's been out with his friends. Did some baking with DD and also made easter nests to use up some of the easter chocolate. Have to go out soon to the train station, my nephews went away yesterday but one is not feeling very well so they are travelling back and need a lift home.
