Switching around is logical really - it's what the docs used to do with headlice treatment until everyone started just pushing the comb the lil critters out method - super fleas and super nits... eww itchy.

I doubt it kills them, it wouldn't be on sale if it did.

I know for a fact it does, as I used to deal with insurance claims made against them. It was very distressing to have to read the letters.

If you also look up reviews of the products, you will find lots of distressing stories.

    There's also a Facebook group:

I've stopped people in supermarkets and told them not to buy it before. It makes me angry that it's still on sale.

I added my 2 pennorth on the "Promeris" thread
I have said this about F****line for some time as I have "known" of issues for about 3 years but obviously it has now reached a point where it no longer works. Thankfully Advantage is still working as is "Stronghold". I would advocate anyone to change soon, before these resistant fleas make it into their house as once they are established you are back to square one.

    Where is the thread?

Thank you Orlao :D I may stick with getting advocate instead. I know a website who it seems doesn't ask for a prescription first.

Any chance of a link please - don't want to have to ask for a prescription.

Snowman 2 is right! Unfortunately I have also seen cats die from cat Bob Martins.

To the OP who said it wouldn't be on sale if it killed cats. . . Well it isn't a licensed prescription product so doesn't have to go through the testing and safety AND proving it works that prescription drugs do!

It is licensed! ALL treatments must have an MA No and this one definitely does as I recently filed a SARRS report for the very same. The VMD receive this and "monitor the results". NB F****line for dogs applied to kittens has much the same results.......

I'm really suspicious of flea collars, to be honest...it warns you not to touch the collar because it's poisonous, but they recommend putting it on your pet?! I live in a rural area, and always feed my dogs garlic (you can get odorless garlic capsules from Holland and Barratt). These work a treat as they make the dog's blood taste bad, hence the fleas don't bite :).

Oh, and those that claim they're getting eaten alive by fleas...it's possibly because you have a higher level of sugar in your bloodstream. Know this is the case with mozzies....again, if you're in contact with fleas, use garlic. I'd try and avoid the chemical sprays, etc, at all costs because they do seem to be highly toxic, and if you've got kids, etc, running around it can't be good!

Have just been told by the receptionist at our vet that they don't make Stronghold anymore and advocate is the replacement - it isn't even made by the same company!!! Honestly don't some people talk sh*t!
