I worked later than normal yesterday and then had the evening to myself which meant I could actually get a few things done!

I cut the grass, dug up a few potatoes which had grown from last year's crop and pulled up a few weeds. It's always nice to spend time in the garden even though my garden is still mostly the revious owners vision, nit mine, but that will come in time (and when there's money!) hopefully.
I made and packed a craft order for posting today; put up two shelves and a blind in my 'office' room; got two loads of washing done and dried, albeit in the tumble dryer and put all the laundered stuff away. I even managed to cook myself some food, watch an hour of tv and finish a book!

More and more lately I have been trying to look at ways of building up my own business or income stream again. I had a really successful little Etsy business for a good few years, which earned me way more than my full time salary, but unfortunately my work got copied by overseas wholesalers who mass produced it and that was pretty much the end of it, bar a few orders from loyal customers here and there. (Unfortunately there was legally nothing I could do about the plagiarism).
I also feel I need a back up plan to generate income if things go bottoms up with my job which is really not that secure, especially moving forward over the next year as there are lots of changes happening. :(

I am a really creative person, but am more jack of many trades rather than master of one. I adored having my own business, but I am so stumped for profitable ideas of what to do and what avenue to go down. I really need to have a good think about things, but the desire to be master of my own future becomes stronger every time I sit bored at my desk every day in work. :(
    Ideas on a postcard please...!

I finally forced myself to list the eBay pile that had consumed the spare bed. It’s only taken me a few months! :o I’ve spent over two hours photographing, listing and weighing items tonight :( but hopefully they will sell and bring in a little more money for the house repairs pot. I’ve listed them all as BIN’s rather than auctions and, if all sold, will bring in over £100, but I think I may be being a little optimistic. I’ll see how it goes and reduce prices of not sold after a week.

Feeling a bit :( tonight. Heard some tragic news about a friend’s sibling today. The worst possible kind of news. I didn’t know the sibling and haven’t seen the friend for some time, but I feel so terribly sad for them. It must be awful.

I also haven’t seen OH, or anyone for that matter, for two days, other than a few people in my office. Starting to feel rather isolated. DS is back tomorrow night though so I will feel better then.

    Xx

  • Hey
Hope that you're feeling a bit brighter this morning. I know how easy it can be to get into a bit of a rut when you're spending a lot of time on your own - plus you have loads going on at the moment as well!
Bet you're counting down to seeing ds again as well :D

Thank you crazy_cat_lady, I'm tired this morning after a restless sleep, but am ok. I can't wait to see DS, although he won't be home until 7.30pm is - his bedtime really - but we'll stay up for snuggles and hopefully have a day at a local farm park planned for tomorrow, so that will be a nice way to end the holidays. :)

Woop woop, an ebay sale! :j A £6 BIN has sold, which should be around £4.50 profit once posted. I forgot how exciting it is to bring in a little bit of money and clear some things no longer needed!

All I need is the other 12 listings to sell now... ;)

Another item sold for £9 this afternoon and so I packaged them all up and took them to the post office to post. After PayPal/eBay fees and postage, I made £15.85 profit altogether today which isn’t a lot, but better than nothing I suppose. I added £1.50 from an overestimation on postage for a business package I sent, so have been able to move another £17.35 to the house repairs pot.

That’s £452.17 in there now with £3867.83 to go.:(

Hopefully the remaining 10 listings will sell soon too!
