Another ebay sale, £4.17 profit added to the pot. :)

I've also chased a refund of £89 to the credit card that should have been credited weeks ago for goods not delivered and a catalagoue of c*ck ups on this company's behalf. It's a russian call centre and an absolute nightmare to deal with, so I've also logged a resolver complaint.

Just over £40 spent in home bargains today but that included two huge packs of toilet rolls, one for me, one for OH, he’ll pay me for his later. £3.99 was spent on hair dye to cover the greys :(. I’m sure it’s gone up in price there though...
£3.49 went on a new double light switch - the one in my dining room has gone and I need to replace it. Should be able to do it myself. :)
The rest went on groceries - eggs, veg, a few tins of beans and coconut milk, 2 lots of cod fillets, chicken breast, some light salad cheese ‘feta-ish’ type stuff. and lots of other bits. Much cheaper than a supermarket tbh.
Ds’s Tea is cooking, OH and I will have the cod and veg later :)

Not feeling the Friday love today.

OH has been stressed and 'off' with me for a few days which is probably related to work and evil-ex issues, but I'm feeling quite down about us not getting on as great as usual and he has upset me a couple of times this week, but doesn't seem to understand that, even when told. :(

Work is also more pants than normal today - one colleague is loudly ranting at every opportunity and, whilst I agree with the reason behind their outbursts, it's given me a banging headache and no-one else wants to be in the same room presently. Glad I'm finishing early today.

...and the builders have still not started work.:mad::mad:

I have DS all weekend now as his Dad is 'busy' (how I wish that roll-eyes smiley was still about), but it suits me as I am looking forward to staying home with my boy and chilling out a bit - hopefully. I have a little bit of work to do tonight, getting some orders made and packaged, then maybe a hot bath with a 'homes' magazine I haven't read yet.

No more progress on the repairs fund unfortunately. I'm hoping to be able to pay off another little chunk next week with the child benefit and tax credits due. I did well on the ebay front though. All of DS's old clothes sold, as well as a couple of other items. Two items are left on there, but I wasn't confident of them selling anyway. It goes to show it's definitely worth the hassle of listing things though and I do now have (most) of my spare bed back.

This weekend, I'd like to take a big bag of change to the coin counter machine thing to get changed up. That can go towards a house repair payment then as well as a little treat for DS maybe.

Despite the doom and gloom above, I am sticking to the weight watchers plan really well and actually enjoying it. At least I may be slimmer but still :( soon!

  • Sorry it's been a bit of a rubbish week. I hate when everything seems a bit 'wrong' and you're not sure what's going on. Enjoy the time with ds though, and keep going - you'll get through it.

Thank you CCL, you’ve phrased it perfectly - everything seems a bit wrong. Never mind, no choice but to get on with things eh?!

I’ve been busy since getting home today, generally tidying, wiping things down and putting clothes away.
I got both our thicker duvets out of the cupboards and have changed both beds and put the warmer duvets on. We still had the lightweight summer duvets on our beds and it was getting chilly at night.

I’ve done two loads of washing and it’s all out on the line, hopefully drying, as it’s a sunny but windy evening here.
There is another load and a bit to do with all the bed linen, but I’ll tackle that tomorrow.

DS is going out for an hour and a half shortly to his regular sports club. I shall do my orders and maybe potter in the garden a bit, I always find that therapeutic.

DS and I are both had an early tea of fish, oven chips and peas. Not exactly diet-friendly, but not horrendous and one evening out of seven won’t hurt. ;)

    Thank you HSL2, you too.

So far it’s lovely. I didn’t sleep well, again. I just can’t seem to get comfy and permanently have neck ache. I’m sure I need a new mattress, but it’s cost I can do without at the moment so I’m trying to delay buying one. My current mattress is 8 years old but it was extremely expensive so I was hoping it would last longer. :(

DS and I have had a lovely morning. We’ve snuggled up on the sofa and watched ‘Pete’s Dragon’. What a lovely film. We’ve played games and are planning a cluedo and monopoly championship this afternoon. :)

OH phoned and all is well there. :) He seems to be happier. He’s coming over later and I’m cooking a cod and butter bean stew with baked potatoes. Feel good food and healthy too.

There’s one load of washing in the machine which will have to go in the dryer as it’s pouring down outside. At least it will heat the house up a bit too, it’s cold in here today but there’s no way i’m putting the heating on yet.

No plans for the weekend, i’ll be quiet happy just having it tick along as it is. These are the best type of weekends. :)

We popped to Asda and spent £13odd on mostly non-essentials, :o such as a cake for DS to have for the week (dairy free is not cheap!); a £1.99 design magazine for me to read later and a couple of other bits.

Whilst there we used the coin machine to count and change the big tin of money my Dad kindly gave us. There was £26.68 in there! :T I’ve given DS £10 to go towards something he is saving for and the rest has been added to the house repairs pot. The total saved is now £534.85 and it’s taken the debt down into the £3700’s.

Thanks for the suggestion savetosave, but alas no, he’d avoid it like the plague because of the sultanas!
