£37.43 added to the house repairs fund from some craft sales, so it now stands at £572.28. I’ll be able to add a nice size chunk tomorrow when the tax credits are paid.

I’ve managed to get the house repairs pot over the £700 mark thanks to a couple more eBay sales and a bit of mone from the craft business. It now stands at £708.12.

OH and I have been away for the week on a cheap lodge deal we booked ages ago. It was really lovely to have a break, but whilst there, have had to deal with issues with builders not showing up to my house and subsequent huge arguments with the boss of the firm. We also had nasty correspondence from OH's psycho ex who chose her time to try and ruin his holiday and then have come home to news my Mum is seriously ill in hospital. :(
I can't say I feel good for having a break...

As per my previous post, I have been chipping away and adding bits of money to the house fund as and when I've been able to. It's payday in a week, so I should be able to add another £100 or so then.

I had to do quite a big shop on the way home yesterday as the ex has pretty much emptied my fridge and freezer feeding DS whilst I was away. To be fair, I did tell him it was there to use if he needed it for DS, I just didn't expect him to use pretty much everything and not replace at least the basics... oh well, at least I know DS ate well.

Not much else to report. Feeling a bit :( about everything presently.

£14.76 from a sale added to the pot, making the balance up to £722.88. It also brings the debt down to the next 100’s bracket into the £3500’s.

I’ve packaged the two eBay sales tonight and done some work on a few orders which I’ll finish and pack tonight, ready to post tomorrow.

I have done a load of washing which is in the dryer and DS has been fed. I’ve also got some meatballs and hidden veg sauce out of the freezer for his tea tomorrow.
The washing machine is now running empty, on a hot wash, with some white vinegar in to freshen it up. I gave the drawer a good clean earlier too as it was a bit gunked up.

I’ve had yet more stress with the builders today, basically not doing what they should be. Neighbours are even reporting back to me now, telling me how lazy they are and they just seem to waste their time all day. I’m really not sure how much more of this I can take. :( I’m giving the boss until the end of this week and if good progress hasn’t been made, then I will be losing my temper with him again. I could so do without this. :(

  • So sorry that your break was not as you would have hoped. I hope the boss of the building firm is sorting out your house repairs.

    Thinking of you...and your mum.

  • I'm so sorry that these rubbish things keep getting thrown your way... I wish there was something useful I could say to make you feel better, but I know how bad it is when it's just one thing after another and it feels like it's going on and on.
I really am thinking of you, and hope things improve very soon.
    Lots of love

Thank you both, it really does mean a lot and I do so appreciate your kindness. xx

Unfortunately builder-boss is the problem. He is full of talk and quite arrogant, but is coming out later today now to try and move things forward. I'm not looking forward to his presence. I can do without it at the moment and just wish they'd get on with the job.

No positive news on my Mum, except she's had her emergency scan. There was no news on those results as of last night though.
Today DS has received a parcel from my Mum which she must have sent before she was rushed into hospital. It made me a little teary when I saw her handwriting, knowing the current predicament of her health.
I think it's a teddy bear she's bought for him that she told me about. She worships my son, as he does her.

I've blown my diet today with a doughnut, kindly bought by a colleague. It was worth it.

All orders and ebay sales were packaged last night. I was hoping to send them today but it will have to be tomorrow now with the builders showing up later today.

No further monies to shuffle for now unfortunately. It's the long last week's wait until payday for now.

I’m feeling a bit better after a decent face to face conversation with the builder today. He explained the problems they’re encountering and now at least I know what’s what. It seems this house is throwing up yet more problems and resisting being fixed. It also appears there have been substandard repairs by a previous owner which have only come to light once part of the walls have been removed. Night.mare.

I’ve caught up on surveys this afternoon and managed to redeem points for another £2 amazon voucher. I’d like to buy some frames for a couple of pictures, but can’t justify the cost at the moment. I also want to buy my wonderful Mum a new apron for her birthday soon, so I will probably put it towards that.

OH is bringing food over for me tonight, i’ve completely run out of steam to cook anything. I need to recharge a bit and get back onto the ww plan I was following as I was doing well with that pre-holiday.

Not much else to report, hopefully I can try and relax a bit later, it’s much needed.
