Thank you MrsSave & HSL2. Thankfully I haven’t heard any of the little critters in my house yet, but I will definitely look out for the oil and sonar things.
Weekend break was lovely, although I didn’t find the bed particularly comfy, so didn’t sleep fantastically so am feeling tired today.
OH insisted on paying for nearly everything so I only spent around £20, if that.
I have been grocery shopping twice today. We’ve discovered OH is gluten intolerant so i’ve been out and stocked him up on lots of things he can eat. He was feeling quite down about it last night but has been quite poorly with symptoms for a while, so hopefully this will make him feel so much better.
I’m making him some gluten free quiches and tartlets tonight with loads of tomatoes and cheese his parents gave us, with some basil and other bits.
DS is due back any minute after not seeing him for 9 days, so I can’t wait! I have his sausage dinner cooking in the oven and a little Lego present ready and waiting for him.
I’ve done two loads of washing, have had to use the tumble dryer, but need to get stuff ready for packing as we are going to see my parents tomorrow.
Not much else to report, just hanging in for pay day now so I can start the month all over again!Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £57,000

We’re back from a few days away at my parents’ house. It was lovely to be around family, but stressful and upsetting with my Mum’s medical condition dominating her every day life so badly.
She also had to have an urgent exploratory procedure whilst we were there and they found ‘something’.
No idea what yet, but now have a stressful wait for the results.
We were kindly gifted lots of cooking apples by my sister’s friend and my parents gave us loads of pears from their garden, so I need to find some recipes to use those.
I’ve taken some mince out of the freezer to batch cook some lasagne or bolognaise for DS, hiding some veg in there at the same time.
I’ve tackled washing mountain this morning. Three loads have been washed and dried (in the tumble dryer thanks to the monsoon outside), including all the bedding I changed before we went away. DS’s Dad kindly brought him back to me last week, crawling with nits, for the second time :mad::mad: so I stripped everything and had loads of towels to wash. I also insisted the ex contributed towards the nit shampoo this time as it’s cost me nearly £50 already this holidays as he repeatedly comes back with them and i’ve Been treating us both every time just to make sure. It’s so frustrating. I have my suspicions as to where it’s coming from each time - due to people not checking and combing through their kids hair until they are confident it’s gone. I’ve raised this with the ex, hopefully this will be the last time.
DS has short hair too. Shorter now after a hair cut this week.
We are not doing anything today. DS is still in his pj’s and we are not going out of the door unless we have to! The weather is horrendous and we both want an easy, chill out kind of day.
I have pottered around and put things away, DS has played with his Lego and been watching TV. Have to say it’s lovely to do very little once in a while!
I’ve been paid this week and have transferred money to the various savings pots. The emergency fund is now at £1000 and I shifted another £79ish to the house repairs fund. I am hoping to be able to transfer another £200 to it before the next pay day, but I shall have to see how the month goes. There’s £325.66 in there now. I need to get it to £4320 in total. Hopefully it will be over the £500 mark by next pay day.
The mortgage will continue to be overpaid monthly by around £52 as I have rounded it up to £400, but any further spare funds I would normally use to make OPs are being diverted to the house repairs until it is paid off.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £57,000

I've managed to sweep another £50 to the house repairs pot, so £375.66 is in there now. I have around another £280 of income due this month so I would like to be able to add £150 - £180 to that fund before next pay day.
I'm not sure how I got through yesterday.
I had a whole one hour of sleep the night before due to my mind not switching off, not feeling particularlywell and then DS being restless and having tummy achesso he came into my bed from 4am onwards. I did have a better sleep last night but am planning an early night tonight to try and catch up a bit.
We went to the cinema with OH and his little one yesterday afternoon. I have 6 free tickets a year from my bank, so we used 4 of those and got in for free. We took our own snacks and drinks for the kids too, never will I pay the extortionate prices for the cr&p food and drink at cinemas! I always watch in disbelief at how people freely pay £6 for a hot dog that looks like it's been there for weeks. A guy in front of us spent £9 on a bag of pic n mix there yesterday...:eek::eek:
I have enough survey points for another £2 Amazon voucher, possibly a £5 voucher. I see I have a couple more surveys to do too.
I have also received an order of some of my craft items this week which will bring in around £40.
I need to stock up the fridge today with fresh stuff. I managed to hold off buying anything over the weekend but it's unavoidable now. Will try and keep it to a minimum and stick to the list. It's hard to keep costs low at the moment as DS is on a dairy and soya free diet, but I do try my best.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £57,000

£34.16 transferred to the house repairs pot from the craft sales, building it up to £409.82. £10.18 to go to get into the £3800's.

A £5 Amazon voucher is now on the way to my inbox from survey points.
Close to £40 spent in Asda today, but this did include £14.99 of ‘nit repellent’ and a conditioner, so about £23 spent on groceries which should last us all week and beyond.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £57,000

Might not help your DS, but when DD had nits when she was little we'd use tea tree shampoo, and the 'helmet of hairspray' approach :rotfl: Soul destroying when not everyone is as vigilant as you are though xLBM 1st Feb 2015 £18182 to go

Thanks Lovely, I never thought of tea tree shampoo, I'll definitely try that. You're right, it is soul destroying time and time again.xx
