Hi All,
Checking the Topcashback offers for the current BT broadband sale, it says that if you take Infinity broadband, calls and TV, you get £131.25 cashback, but it also shows that BT are giving away a £125 prepaid Visa card.
Does the £131.25 cashback include the prepaid card?
Presumably, but there's no clarification.
Thanks!0 -

Am I missing something?
My current deal with BT actually means they pay me so quite possibly you aren't missing anything.
If possible pay using a Santander 123 Current account and you will get cashback so should also end up being paid!0 -
You should receive both assuming the cashback tracks and is confirmed (which it doesn't always). Quidco is £140 for the same package by the way.Hi All,

hi,
I am thinking about moving from Talk Talk LLU to sky for standard broadband (i.e. not fibre).
With talk talk I typically download at ~600KB/s to 800KB/s (5Mb/s)
(Though broadbandspeedchecker and speedtest just told me 2.3Mb/s down & 0.5Mbs/ up)
The speed estimate from sky is 1Mb/s - 3Mb/s.
Can I really expect to see a difference in speed?
Are sky just being cautious with their estimation?
I live about 1 mile from the exchange.
Thanks0 -

I guess it will vary with area but with Sky I got:
down 17
up 1.2
and with TalkTalk I get
down 16
up 0.8
So I would like to think Sky speeds would be at least as fast, but others may have a different experience. I think my prediction was 10-19 down.
The upload from TT feels very slow when emailing documents for work. I also know TalkTalk fibre medium is only 1.9 up (large is a lot higher) - I don't know why they limit the upload speed so much.

With BT OPenreach Providers is it compulsory for phone line and broadband to be with same provider ? could you not for example have phone with say directsave and broadband with ee on the same openreach line?0

It is not compulsory, however it is the policy of a lot (the majority perhaps) of providers.0 -
The MSE Broadband article says that PlusNet's deal is cheaper if you pay line rental in advance, and that no call charges are included. That appears a bit misleading.
I've just been looking at the PlusNet site, and it says that the full £15.95 line rental includes free evening and weekend calls; if you opt for the £12.99 line rental saver, the calls aren't included, so the costs aren't directly comparable. Line rental saver plus anytime calls added makes it £17.990 -
The article also makes no mention of the £50 or £70 cashback you could get through Quidco on the SSE deal.0

Best deal I ever had was
1 Years line rental
1 Years Broadband
1 Boost
1 TV Receiver
2 Poweline Lan Adaptors
1 New Router
Total cost £27 for the year! :T
Amazing deal
And to think, I was planning to switch to BT Infinity but they increased their TopCashback so I cancelled with the intention of reordering at the higher rate. If TopCashback wasn't declined, it'd have worked out at an effective £9.68 per month.
However, I'm just off the phone to TalkTalk and my new 12 month contract includes a years line rental and Superpowered Fibre for a total cost of £60.
I thought it had to be a mistake but, obviously, your deal was better.
I'm happy enough though - no risk of a decline of cashback now.0
