  • I don't understand why you say we will still have to pay £2.50 per month... Can you explain?

Just got our sky box & documentation for the MSE deal - it looks like the free broadband is actually £7.50 off the Sky TV customer discounted price of £7.50; as the "usual" price is £10/month, looks like we'll have to pay £2.50 a month.

Not for me, it showed £0/month to pay for broadband when I signed up.
  • Hi all, my contracts nearly up with Sky and they've offered me the following deal to stay, would appreciate your thoughts please, Good or Bad? Thanks

    Sky Fibre Unlimited (38Mb)
    18 Month Contract
    Free Hub

    £5.00 x 12 = £60.00 (1st 12 Months)
    £20.00 x 6 = £120.00 (Final 6 Months)
    £11.70 x 12 = £140.40 (12 Months Line Rental upfront)
    £15.40 x 6 = £92.40 (Final 6 Months Line Rental)

    £60 + £120 + £140.40 + £92.40 = £412.80

    £412.80 - 100 (credit to a/c) = £312.80

    £312.80 div 18 = £17.37 P/M

Note : Found a slightly better deal with Plusnet but that includes £157.00 cash-back which isn't guaranteed plus staying with Sky saves the hassle of moving.
  • I registerd for the sky deal about ten days back and received a confirmation say 'voucher code accepted' but heard nothing since...

Please tell me what the next move is, because at the moment, I don't know where I stand, do I have to give BT notice even though I am out of contract????

Thank you in advance for any light

Can someone please confirm my maths on the topcashback deal with BT? As I see it, cost over 18 months is £585 but I get £202 cashback and £125 in Sainsburys vouchers, making a net outlay of £258, equating to less than £15 per month for phone, broadband and TV package??
Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.

If you haven't had an e-mail from Sky I'd say it's not gone through, as I had a couple and can login to their website and see the progress of my order.

Maybe give them a ring in case it's just got stuck in the system.

Not sure about giving notice, that might be done automatically when Sky tell BT that they're taking over but you could ask Sky when you phone them or phone BT to check.

Last week I signed up to BT. 12 months line rental 160 upfront. Unlimited up to 16 broadband plus some sort of TV package 13 per month Optional modem router 6.95 delivery

250 Quidco plus 150 sainsburys voucher. Cost for the year minus 70 quid.

I PM'd you - where is this deal?

Thank you for taking the time to reply, I am beginning to wish I had never received the monthly news email from MSE

The £250 offer is on the Quidco page, but BT's site only offers a £75 Sainsbury voucher for this (non-fibre) package.

Also, I fear that the OP is basing the maths on 12 months at £13, but the webpage states that it's £13 for 6 months then the rest at £21.
  • i rang BT to cancel last week and was paying 16 pounds line rental and 17 pounds for unlimited broadband.came away with 15.00 line rental and 6 pounds unlimited broadband, not fibre but I'm quite happy with the normal speed broadband and the bt service---- a nice saving
