just an update - talktalk no longer offer broadband only. looks like i'll go for plus net or o2.
o2 is 7.50 if you top up the sim card every 3 months adding £40 a year. it still works out cheap at £10.83. plus net might be 9.99 but has a 2gb limit and no wireless router, plus a 6.99 delivery charge if you get a usb modem! o2 it is then!0 -
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!! Do not go anywhere near supanet please!!
If the slightest thing goes wrong their customer service is shocking:(
Ive been with Supanet for a couple of years now and haven't had a single problem (touch wood!). When I rang them for help setting up a new router they were very helpful too. So I must disagree, paulus.0 -
I currently have NTL cable XL and M tv package that i pay £38 a month for.
I also have a BT landline.
I don't really need the cable TV as freeview give me all i need so i can ditch that.
I have checked my BT line and the fastest i can get is 3MBs.
I am looking for the best Broadband deal using my BT Line.
I am considering the TISCALI or Talk-Talk deal which might be a little more expensive, but with the free international calls would probably work out cheaper all in.
I download a bit of music as well as tv programs so would need an ISP that does not impose a small download limit.
What do you reccommmend?0 -

And I sincerely hope it continues like that Beth!
I have been with them for about 4 years now I think, all of a sudden my connection cuts off intermittently. I have had Sky, BT and Supanet passing the buck for about a month now.
My 8mb line drops to about 1.6mb every evening
Check your speeds regularly because they cap between 4pm and 12 midnight.
I spoke to a neighbour tonight about 3 doors down and hey presto, he has just started having the same problems as me..everything cutting off at random times throughout the evening.
Maybe Im being harsh on Supanet but its a bit of a coincidence.
Also they inexplicably chopped me back to a 2mb connection without telling me and it took half a dozen phone calls to Burnley chavs to get it sorted.
I hate them and cant wait to migrate to my o2 staff account for 5 quid a month in December0 -

As far as I can see from the Virgin website, the cheapest broadband + phone package is £20 per month (reduced to £15.50 for the first 12 months) - not £16 as stated in the article:
Broadband Size: M and Phone Size: M bundle: Broadband Size: M (up to 2Mb) and Phone Size: M are £4.50 a month for the first 12 months (plus Virgin Phone line of £11), which is £15.50 a month. After 12 months, the standard bundle price applies, which is £9 on top of Virgin Phone line of £11 (£20 a month). Offer ends 31st October 2008.
Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Oh come on! PlusNet the cheapest broadband?
It doesn't hold a candle to TalkTalk's AnyTime International3 package which, for under £21 a month, includes "free" broadband (usage limit 40GB a month), and free AnyTime calls to UK landlines and 36 international countries (including mobiles in ertain countries) and, finally, line rental.
It's a knock-out bargain:beer:
If you just take the UK AnyTime calls (no international calls) option it's even cheaper.
I've been with TalkTalk for more than two-and-a-half years now and it was the best move I've ever made - speeds range between 6.5MB and 7.2MB.0 -
Just managed to get my mac code from Pipex.
I have today rang Talktalk who quoted 20.99 a month (£0 connection fee) and 15.75 for the next three months.
For international anytime package (free geographical calls).
I am also going to be speaking to Sky.Am i likely to get a better deal,my line will only take 5 mb so 8mb package.
