I will say this against Amazon - you still have to be aware of the crud.

For example this "Near Field Communication Technology 3220mAh Lithium-ion Battery for long lasting battery life Genuine Samsung Battery"

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-EB-BN910BBE-Replacement-Battery-Frustration/dp/B00PU1LJ86/

Is no such thing - it's not genuine. Amazon don't give a monkeys as these sort of fakes are all over the site.

Sold by a third party seller of course.

Buying direct from Amazon is recommended, from others not so much.

There is also the Amazon A-Z guarantee for items bought from third parties which does provide a high level of protection.

    Amazing amazon .
£6- MSE newsletter a few months back a link sign up .
Buy £30 Amazon Gift Card and have extra £6- to spend before Aug .
Signed up bought £50 Gift Card that had a £5 bonus . Did not use until this month £61 of goods for £50 .
  • i used to use Amazon a lot but there prices and rrp is a joke, nothing ever sells for rrp. Things can be bought cheaper in loads of other retailers but if you cannot wait more than 1 day for delivery then i suppose they are for you.

Never thought I'd vent at a company about delivering to me a day too early but Amazon did it. Apart from that the unlimited photo storage is well worth a yearly Prime subscription for the amount of data I pump into their servers. So yes, I'm a dedicated Amazon customer for now :)

Looking around my home there's very little that didn't come from Amazon. Now that the high street is non-existent and the super duper shiny new town centre is all coffee shops, eating places and a few over-priced "designer" shops, oh and a virtually empty new "flagship" M&S there's hardly anything worth buying.

Only issues i have had is a book had to be sent 3 times, because they were damaged. perfect packaging but the books had gouges that looked like they got stuck in a machine.

And the other was an item due for delivery on Saturday, it did not arrive until Monday.. The horror of it... But i was not in a rush for it so no problem.. :)

Had a delivery almost everyday the past week or so. Its so convenient. We are in a good spot and get same day deliveries on a lot of stuff.

Even done the shopping once, Same price as Morrisons as far as i could tell, but no having to sit in traffic and driving around for a parking space.

Amazon are a life-saver. I'm a Prime user so can get loads of good quality goods delivered to my door for free, with free returns, although I've only returned 3 items in 8 years. In my view they are one of the best retailers in the world. Another is John Lewis.

As for the issues of staff treatment, do you have any qualms about buying smartphones and other equipment made in China at low wages. Or clothing from Bangladesh made by kids who ought perhaps to be in school.
