For the final time I will say that I have not been banned by Amazon lol. Neither am I a serial returner. However as per the DSR customers do have a right to change their mind and return things even without a reason. I fully support and standby what Watchdog said about their investigation into Amazon with regards to them banning customers. Amazon don't follow rules and laws. Instead they play the Amazon game and do want they want which is totally wrong in my humble opinion. The people that were featured on Watchdog having been banned by Amazon were given no explanation or warning as to the reasons why they got banned and again that is wrong. Another gentleman who was featured in the Guardian again was given no explanation as to why he was banned. Again this is wrong in my humble opinion and again shows how arrogant Amazon has become. My final words on this thread will be that corporate companies like Amazon and others should never have been allowed to get as big as they are. The resulting effects of this are now being felt by a lot of people and it's only going to get worse. Sorry but that is fact. However Jeff Bezos the CEO of Amazon and others like him getting richer and richer everyday is fine. I'm out of here. Have a nice day everyone
Thank heavens for that but no doubt you will start another similar thread in a couple of years time. It's nothing , not nothink.0 -
Iv got to ask OP - why are you so bothered by this ??
You aren't a customer of theirs , and you haven't been banned
You dont have a dog in the fight - yet you seem to be obsessing over this for years !!!
What gives ???
...but they are a customer of Amazon...just keeping it a secret by orderinng on someone else's account for some weird reason!0 -
Please do a search yourself thanks. So you are saying that Watchdog's findings are also unfounded, or just mine ?
Also there is no need to get rude or nasty.
No one is being rude or nasty we are simply asking you to provide some evidence of these forums you keep referring to which for some reason you are not prepared to do which raises the question are they fictitious, if we search ourselves how are we supposed to know which are the ones you are reading?
As for Watchdog I refer you to post #78 in this thread.

From your link,
Amazon, who took the top placing for the fifth consecutive time,
It's a shame that the OP isn't interested in facts.

Please can you tell me and explain how your post and link relates to Amazon banning customers without any warning ?
When somebody gets banned, or receives a warning from Amazon, it's from their Executive Customer Relations Team which is a seperate department hidden away somewhere in Amazon. They can't be phoned, or neither can they contacted. Even Amazon's normal customer services team can't put you through to them. Not very customer service orientated in my humble opinion.
Just to add that a lot of people in the US have now started to abandom Amazon and won't shop there anymore with the recent banning of lots of accounts in the US without any prior warning. Former Amazon customers including myself want the choice of being able to return something ordered in error, or not as described. We don't want to be beholden to Amazom's automated algorithms as to when Amazon think that you are no longer a good customer. Basically if Amazon don't think you are profitable enough and making them enough money, you will get banned. Not a good policy in my humble opinion.0 -
So what rules and laws are they breaking exactly?. They do allow change of mind returns and offer people free postage to return it and a full refund so they go above and beyond what is expected.
There is no law of rule that says a company can't ban customers they don't want to do business with.
If they are given a reason why they are banned then that would leave them open to abuse if it is widely reported. This has been explained to you many many times but you fail to understand.
Just like if you apply for a loan, credit card etc from a bank and you are rejected they will not tell you the reasons why.
But you seem so taken in by sensationalist newspapers and TV programs you can't see how their cases are exaggerated to make it more entertaining for people like you. Do you believe everything you see on TV or written in a newspaper 100%?
Finally what is wrong with how big Amazon has become? If people are choosing to use them then why shouldn't they make big profits. If the CEO is doing a good job of growing the business then he should get richer that's what happens in a capitalist society. If other businesses are failing due then that's due to people choosing to not use them, so why should a business that people don't want to use have a right to survive?.
It's ironic that you don't like how big Amazon is yet then go on to complain about their policy of banning people which actually reduces their amount of customers.
Hi takman, your post makes me incredibly sad and that's why I had to come back to give a reply. My quiestion to you and others who share your views are what is right with a Capitalist Society with the richer getting richer and the poor getting poorer. I'm afraid I don't agree with your views whatsoever, however I do understand that we are all entitled to our own opinions.0 -
OP can't help returning to this topic and repeating the same message over and over.
I think this thread has run it's course.0 -
I do not use Amazon as often as I used to as I have found they are more expensive than they used to be.
Only ever had to return something once because it had a wheel missing from it (large toy car transporter).
It was dealt with promptly, they ordered a replacement and collection of the faulty item.
I will continue to use them when the price is right.0 -

Amazon have never stopped anyone from returning something due to a change of mind, they even pay for your return postage on top of the full refund so they go above and beyond what other retailers do. You keep making the same incorrect statements over and over again which is really starting to make you look silly (if you have some kind learning difficulty then I'm not trying to be offensive).Hi takman, your post makes me incredibly sad and that's why I had to come back to give a reply. If it really makes you that sad then why do you give Amazon your money and make the CEO "richer" by getting a friend to order for you?.0 -
This very day I returned an expensive item to Amazon due to a change of mind and they've already issued a refund. How many online retailers would do that before even getting the item back.0
