First spend of the month. Fabric pens. They are necessary and are coming out of my holiday budget...it's my Granmas 80th birthday (the occation for the weekend away) and we are getting t-shirts made up for the gang to where.
She has expessly forbid putting '80' on anything. The back of the t-shirts will have a photo from her youth (she was quite a looker) and ****'s birthday bash. The fronts we are decorating ourselves with '80' in various forms without the number.
My t-shirt with have a pirate saying 'Aye Matey' (I'm eighty), I'm decorating BF's t-shirt with 8 letter T's
A Ask yourself 'Is this necessary?' Before purchasing anything. Fabric pens bought, but I was contemplating last night buying some new clothes this weekend for my holiday, which I've decided was a silly idea. I'm only away for a weekend, and I'm losing weight, so will hold off to buy clothes after I hit my goal.
J June challenge - Aim for 20 NSDs 0/20. Spend day today. As well as the pens I had to pay the window cleaners. We were due a clean in May and hadn't heard so I messaged them last night and they came today.
We did pop into the VR centre after work and book in a session. Normally £50 for an hour, we were given a special deal of £30. Can't wait.
U Use the food you have, meal plan. Freezer leftovers for tea tonight, freezer leftovers for tea tomorrow.
N No takeaways, etc. No takeaways/snacks purchased today. (I did score some free leftover pizza for my lunch in work)
E Eating well. Fruit and nuts snacked on. Thumbs upPizza for lunch. Thumbs down
O Offer help and encouragement to other turtles and people you meet. Be kind to everyone, especially yourself. I'm volunteering at the local parkrun early tomorrow morning. Sacrificing a layin
D Debt payments should be made first. Mums repayment paid this morning. Hotel money has been put aside so I don't have to worry about scaping that together. I've also got £100 in the hol fund for meals etc (don't want to spend that much, but BF is sorting out the petrol so I'll owe him a meal)
E Exercise. Missed my run today, but took the pup for a walk. I had to do the AM walkies too, as BF had an early start in work.
S Set all your budgets. Budgets set, wages hit the account so spreadsheet updated.
S Someone, somewhere is worse off than you. Donate to the local food bank or other charity of your choice. Clear some of your clutter and donate the goods to charity. I'm going to have a look over the weekend for items to donate.
E Every day check in is reccommended, especially when things go wrong. I am here!
Y You are the most important person in your life. You are your own longest term investment. You matter. Read this and the daily quotes, take on anything you find relevant and helpful, ditch the rest.Debt Free as of 17/01/2009 Turtle Power!!

Good evening turtles and a warm welcome to the June challenge to all new, returning and regular turtles.
Bizzie good to know the areas where you can improve
Munchin lovely simple plan
thriftylass congratulations on getting right back on track after your blip
Calling14 fun is high on the agenda this month. Can you do anything about work? Is it particular people or just too much work and too few resources?
indigo extra money woohoo - and a plan. Go girl
f0xh0les don't remember the unicorn. Any luck with the washing up?
apple a lovely balanced gratitude list.
Daily gratitudes.
I haven't included this in the challenge rules this month but many of us find it useful to think of 3 (or more) things we are grateful for, at the end of each day.
This is optional but will probably come up at some point during the month as it has lots of benefits - it focusses your mind on what you already have rather than what you 'want'/ what someone else has.
Kerry Woman lots of progress, all those small steps add up to big changes.
DawnW setting us a shining example with your super frugal month. Stick to whatever rules the hospital gave you.
swimming love, love ,love a simple plan
Did the quotes resonate with anyone. I'd picked them out and then thought 'sarcastic, awkward (mostly the fumbling, shy one but have been known to do the mulish I'm not budging one occasionallly) and weird' - that's me. Embrace the weird. Sarcasm apparently can add 3 years to your life.
Any tips on cutting down on washing up? I am with x-Raphael-xx on ironing, folding from line dried works most of the time and if your 'best' (only) dress is crumpled from being in the wardrobe so long, as you only get the offer of a night out once or twice a year - hang it up over the taps as you run your bath and the steam will make any creases drop out.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Spend day here on two birthday cards and a plant pot (should have resisted). Walked the dogs and with a friend, had a swim and then marked all day.
I am grateful for good weather, my garden and resisting getting a puppy (next door got one today!)LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

I had a spend day today paying off some of my cc, buying some food to plan meals for a few days. I am aiming for 10 NSD this month, hopefully I will be able to do more, so setting 10 so as not to fail.
I am grateful today for waking up this morning to spend another day on this earth. It make me so great-full for life since I lost my dad 7 weeks ago. xMFWB#2
