Many apologies for abandoning you all. Messed my sleep pattern up on Friday, hayfever totally wiped me out yesterday - could not stay awake and only made it donstairs to refill my drinking water bottle and grab food. Stressed out because one of my "sometime this month" jobs became a "right now" job.
Sleeping helped but still felt like a wrung out dishcloth. All the rain has damped down the pollen, my eyes are less sore and I can smell and taste things a bit better. Have done the urgent task and it's in the post box (it has taken 10 days to get to me but I have to get it back to them by the 22nd - says so in big shouty letters). Some questions were a bit mystifying - had to go online for more info and it was so simple (why couldn't they say what it was?).
Will only take me 5 minutes to do my tax return and WTC renewal now (then mum's tax return). All the work I have put in paid off because everything was where it should be (just lots of extras that I don't really need).
Today I am grateful for easy food (using up veg from the freezer), for getting this stupid form done with the minimum of fuss, for feeling in charge, for all the bits that hurt less than they did, for ice lollies (so soothing), for not binge shopping (had a list but didn't go out). Two of my dresses are definitely missing, one for a couple of weeks, the other for longer. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi everyone
just got back from Wales tonight so thought I'd do a quick post before bed.£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund0 -
Hi all :j
A Ask yourself 'Is this necessary?' Before purchasing anything. Gah spent again today - just now - and not necessary..at all. Only £15 but cross with myself as I really don't need anything, boo...When you make a 'to do' list (is it realistic or even possible); did lots of things that have been languishing on the list for what feels like aeons...
J June challenge runs from 1st June to 30th. Aiming for tough target. Still 9/20
U Use the food you have in the cupboards, fridge and freezer to base your meals on. Meal plan (for the month or for a few days at a time, whichever suits). Cook from scratch (short cuts permitted if you are feeling stressed) Ah well this at least I managed, all food from stores & mostly prepped yesterday, hooray. Will not have to cook tomorrow either as going out for FD meal already booked in advance, & DD is paying
N No takeaways, coffee, chip or pie shop purchases. Nope.
E Eating well is a form of self respect. Pretty good today. will improve through the week as well.
O Offer help and encouragement to other turtles and people you meet. Be kind to everyone, especially yourself. Waves pompoms wildly encouragingly!! Tried to be kind to DH whose cough is now mega-irritating & keeps waking me up at night (not him though) grr....
D Debt or savings payments should be made first - live on what is left No debt other than cc I use for all purchases to get rewards - which is paid off in full every month. Will need to get the cc bill down during the month with payments made daily (PAD thread) to avoid large bill at end of month. Another Daily PAD..
E Exercise according to your programme or your ability. Minimum of 3 times a week. Try to get outside every day. Outside 3 times today, happy with that..
S Set all your budgets before the start of the month. Food, travel, social, diy, other. Have all receipts in shoebox awaiting DH revival of spreadsheet..will tackle tomorrow, honest. Tackled DH re spreadsheet, he will locate tomorrow. Shoebox filling up with receipts..Yaay DH found the spreadsheet & I will fill in after posting...
S Someone, somewhere is worse off than you. Donate to the local food bank or other charity of your choice. Clear some of your clutter and donate the goods to charity. Will be amassing stuff to take to CS as I clear the clutter; also intend to sell better items to pay for hols booked for August. Didn't list but bought from FB selling page.. Must. Do. Better.
E Every day check in is recommended, especially when things go wrong. 17/30 here I am..
You are the most important person in your life. You are your own longest term investment. You matter. Read this and the daily quotes, take on anything you find relevant and helpful, ditch the rest. Reading, learning & inwardly digesting. Help and support on here is the best..progress slow but steady..keep on keeping on..Need to concentrate on not getting overwhelmed..Feeling better today, no need for migraine meds.
Glad the rain damped down the pollen mothernerd & that you are feeling better.....Happy (belated) Birthday f0xholes - hope it was a good'un
