....Unite, Amicus section.
Personally it's the first I've heard of it, but I'll forward this on to our senior rep.0 -
We have a lot of support from Unite. I went down to the TUC conference and met up with some of your big wigs! Please, do pass it on. Any and every donation and letter of support is welcome.0

....all the best with it. It sounds like they're not even denying that she was sacked for opening her trap. That's just not on. As for promoting her and suspending her on the same day, well......... (I really do need to borrow Pet's 'shakes head in despair' smiley again)
Anyway, better get back on topic. Spuds n beans........
Nice one, Marion :T0 -
Missyg Thank you! Tomorrow it will be 11 months since I quit!
So, update on the last 12 hours! Last night I made pilau rice (with left over chicken) like I normally do, except for using Fry Light instead of ghee or oil. I can honestly say it was the most bland and boring pilaf I have ever made, despite the cardamom, bay leaves, chilli and cinnamon. Grrhhhh! This mornings breakfast was porridge, but I'm already hungry again!.
Hullo,
Try using a bit less of the real stuff...I have a kitchen spray bottle I got from woolworths so I pop normal oil in that and spray like it was fry light...definitely makes you use less. Or start measuring it out in teaspoons...that way you don't actually pop too much in....
If nothing other than the norm will do...up the exercise to compensate or perhaps have more rice and less curry
also give yourself some time to get used to the new taste and you might end up liking it or thinking of a new ingredient to lift it...kinda like when you first stop having sugar in tea...awful a first but after a while you won't contemplate going back....
If you need something to warm you up when you get to picket...why not take along a sachet of options...nice tasty hot choc but not as many cals...0 -
JoeyEmma, even if you have put on a few extra pounds since giving up smoking, you've already done your body a massive favour by quitting! Being on the picket line must be really hunger-inducing especially if others are tucking into food from the stove. Good luck with that AND for your cause.
Retiredlady, congrats on your 2.5lb weight loss! A great week for you!
Has everybody here actually held in their hands something of equal weight to the weight they are losing, and felt how heavy it is? This week mine is about the weight of a tin of baked beans, but my total loss is probably the weight of a small child!

LOL what can I say, it is scary  when you work out that your total weight loss is that of a adult female!! Thanks Ajax, you cheered me up! I went ot starbucks last night and the young girl said, "I dont want to offend you..." Im thinking oh no, what I have done!! "But you have lost a lot a weight and look really good for it" Wipe that smile off my faceMrsSuggs was there too and loved it as I blushed
Trouble was the girl said she only noticed since the summer, I had been going there for a year!! Funny how the weight loss doesnt show for a while.
Big well done to you marion x
