Brighton Belle Marmite without butter is like roast beef without yorkshires. Boring and incomplete!! I think I just need to make a clean cut and have something like toast with low fat cream cheese or cottage cheese.

Suggs Some nice tips. I think my reward will be fitting into all the clothes that are hanging up in my cupboard that don't fit that well! I will join the 2lb a month challenge. How do I join?

as she cooks and acts up like its !!!!!!.
    To record it he must,
    He knows it is lust!!
All he wants to do is show her his loin!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I can't believe he did that with 'loin'. He has no shame, this lad.

  • ps Just previewed this post and the world has gone on apace :o sorry peeps, you'll just have to have to have a pause from the fun, or indeed, skip it :rotfl:

Mmmm... football is to Mr BB what a bicycle is to a goldfish :D ...

:rotfl: :rotfl: thanks for that Bb :D Our respective OHs' must be related, no holidays and can't stand football doesn't mind a bit of Rugby but that's about it. Sorry to see that you're still having trouble with your back not-tagged-smiley-14571.gifbut I'm pleased that the experts are now not thinking that it's weight loss related, it would make all this hard work pointless  ...

...There were some lovely weight losses last week :j I was pleased to see that Bails is back into weight loss mode, must be all this new work schedule and stuff, jolting the metabolism and stuff (sorry if I'm being too technical peeps, the words just aren't coming to me:confused: )...

...I was pleased to see Retiredlady back :j stick to it Marion, you've come a long way and it would be a shame to let it all go, these hiatuses come to everyone, so you aren't alone :D ...

...emmalis I hope your interview went okay :j ...

...Welcome Joey 7x98hlj.gifit's good to have a few more boys here, although Suggs is still the resident hunk :o . Whatever plan you decide to follow though, just make sure that you stick to it, as only you can make it work but I hope you have succes with us here, they are a great bunch folk :j ...

...Which reminds me, Suggs I was sorry to read that you were saying that your confidence was down, is there any particular reason (I'm an expert on this matter :rotfl: )? I'd been pleased to read of your earlier post where you got onto the dance floor with MrsS that takes courage (or a lot of booze in my case:o ). I agree with missyg that my confidence is (usually)better when I'm not carrying extra weight, I suppose it's to do with what I think other people see me as  ...

...Doing Quorn chilli (and bulgar wheat for DD and MrP) for dinner tonight. Trying to sort out a menu plan for the rest of the week because it does help me especially at the moment...

    xxxx
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

.....it's 5lb a month, and a top bod (suggs/delly/efrieze these days) starts it off, usually the day after the last challenge finished. This month the challenge finishes on 28th November, it's a Wednesday thing.

Ajax, you know this shed with all the lost thing are? Please could you look in it for my specs which I lost 3 weeks ago somwhere in my house? Maybe they've migrated.

Joeyemma, I'm an ex SW person and I'm just following the plan and getting support on this thread. Thoroughly recommend it. I think maybe SW can become a bit slow becasue you find ways of getting round the rules. You can eat vast quantities but just because you can doesn't mean you HAVE to. I think that's where I've been going wrong for the last few weeks. (Must go and check the oven, I've got 4 sweet potatoes, 6 carrots, an onion and 2 peppers cooking in there for my dinner ..... oh.)
  • a bottle of wine is 8 points

Skip the glass, go straight for a straw? ;)
    7. When peckish in town, work past Greggs and go and buy an apple instead! (but I do love a hot cheese and onion).

I find having something in my bag to munch on helps... Knowing it's there stops me buying, and because I know I really shouldn't eat it, I normally don't! Except when I have to walk through the market to get into uni... Then I spend all day eating grapes or berries.... lol.

.....were ya? Rather you than me.

Nigel Blackwell is the songwriter and frontman for a band called Half Man Half Biscuit. I quote the lyrics cos they give me a chuckle - I spend 95% of the day with one of their tunes going around in my head.

OK, so far we have got....

    1. Have a healthier more filling breakfast- it is porridge season after all
    2. Dump the oil and butter for Fry Light (I do have it in the house, it just doesn't taste as nice!)
    3. Cut out the 5pm snacks of a piece of toast, butter and marmite or piece of cake (you need something to go with the cup of tea when you get home!)
    4. Use smaller amounts of cheese when I'm cooking and go for lower fat cheeses where possible (eg mozzarella instead of cheddar).
    5. Less bread. Even though I buy wholemeal, I know that a thick cut slice isn't that great for you.
    6. Increase intake of low GI foods to fill me up (see porridge for breakfast).
    7. When peckish in town, work past Greggs and go and buy an apple instead! (but I do love a hot cheese and onion).
    8. Add an email subscription to the thread and keep involved and chatting through the good times and bad.
    9. Join the Monthly Challenge and the 2lb Chart, both good ways to keep you motivated.
    10. Set a little reward, be it dvd, cd or an item of clothing when you hit your first mini target :)
    11. Don't be too hard on yourself. Most people who fail do so because they can't resist that iced bun, have that iced bun and think "Oh well I've blown it now, might as well have pizza and chips". Diets are for fools, lifestyle changes are for winners, but healthy eating includes the occasional treat when it's needed. It helps in the long run.
    12. Whatever plate you use now, use a slightly smaller one for a while.
    13. Try and stick to some kind of tried and tested plan, but definitely without paying for it. All the support is on here - point/syn values, whatever. Someone always has the answer. It helps to have something to stick to, it focuses the mind.

    Just thought as well...
    14. Cut out red wine and stick to gin and slimline tonic instead. Loads less calories.

Petrichor Thanks for the welcome, but last time I checked I was definitely not a boy!

.... it's a shed, not a blimming tardis. Stop piling the pressure on, shed's stressed.

    Ex- SW, Nise? What happened?
