  • victory i'll second the request for the fish stew, sounds yummy. Raphael, if you like gravy try bovril. It's free on SW and i have it when i have sausage and mash. IT's not nice and thick like granules but it does the job and you get used to it.

Thanks for the good wishes about my boiler, quite relieved as i can now see some light at the end of the tunnel. Have to be verycareful with my diet over the next couple of days as it's oh's birthday and he gets to pick the food. So we are having italian rare steak and rosemary toasts and a chocolate lemon tart. I've also got to replan the weekend so that I can manage the endless stream of bacon butties that will be required for the installation of the boiler. Ah well, SW is flexible enough to cope i'm sure.

welcome to monkeymutz and well done to all the losers this week.

That's fantastic news about the bolier KPC, about time eh?! Ours was only out for a few days and I was really feeling it so my heart goes out to you even more now! As for the bacon butties, allow yourself to have one (it would be impossible not to I think) and then you won't feel deprived. The key word is 'one', lol! Are you going to plan out the rest of the week around the bday meal so you can accommodate it?

I've just pigged out on a cooked brekky I don't think I really wanted, simply because I had bacon sat in the fridge that needed eating. Note to self - must wrap it up individually and freeze. Had scrambled eggs, bacon and beans, which is fine on my plan but now I feel stuffed. Think it'll be brunch...

  • Morning all! A bit of a mixed post this one with a  and a :j !!

My grrrr   moment is my hideous commute into London this morning - there was a fatality on the line so they shut it down for nearly 2 hours - took me three and a half hours to get to work instead of 1 1/4. Still, I'm here now and at least there was a train at my station (albeit not going anywhere for ages) so I didn't freeze my bits off

However, this is balanced by my :j which is that I'm pleased to report a 3 lb loss this week - and I was SOTW at RC for the 2nd week running! Only 1 1/2 lb to go and I will have lost 1 1/2 stone and also 1/3 of my total weight to lose :T

Mum is doing really well too, she's lost 1st 8lb in total and the Dr is really pleased as her blood pressure has come way back down again and he's reduced her dosage on the pills - really fab news on that front. We have a massive history of high blood pressure and heart attacks in our family - I lost all my grandparents around the age of 60 and Mum is 53 now so was starting to get a little concerning. Just need to work on my Dad now!!!!!!!:D

Congratulations to raphael and rachelja on being our SOTW's  some fab losses there ladies! And a big  to Monkeymutz we love new people joining us and it's so much support!

Well done all you losers out there and big :grouphug: to any bods who gained

I also loved bacon butties but tried switching to turkey rashers and found them just as tasty but at only 25 calories per slice I don't feel quite as guilty as I would if I had the real stuff.

Well done to Rach and Raph as SOTW and well done to everyone else who lost or STS.

Keep up the great work! :T

Good idea about the turkey rashers Anic, thanks.

Missyg - sorry, didn't mean to brag about my age ;)

It wasn't me that used the word bragging :p I actually feel no different now than when I was your age, except I am a lot lighter, though that could also be due to the fact that I was pregnant at your age :D

I like cheery people. Please post often!!! Hope your tooth is OK, well technically not your tooth, your mouth :D

Welcome monkeymutz look forward to hearing from you too :D

I've just been for my haircut so I'm a bit behind today, I'll try to come back for another catch up in a while. Hope everyone is feeling great today and keeping motivated!

Delly, it means stayed the same. That fish sounds lovely, can you post the recipe please?

Here goes it is called Sweet and sour fish curry (not stew sorry!) 2 points per serving, calories 260 per serving...freezable

    low fat cooking spray
    1 small red onion diced
    1 garlic clove
    1 tbsp korma curry powder
    75g of carrots,diced
    courgettess 150g
    400g can of toms
    150ml fish stock
    1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
    100g baby sweetcorn (I don't use that)
    100g pineapple in natural juice,drained
    275g haddock, cubed
2 tbsp fresh coriander to serve

Heat low spray in heavy pan, add onion, carrots, garlic and curry powder with 2 tbsp of water and cook for 5 mins until veg soft.

Add courgettes, toms, fish stock, lemon juice and bring to boil, reduce, simmer for 15 mins.

Mix in baby sweetcorn, haddock and pineapple and continue simmering for another 10 mins.

    Sprinkle with coriander to serve.

The toms and pineapple with the lemon juice make the most fab low calorie low sugar sweet and sour sauce, I love it so much I COULD actually just eat that all day long as a drink:rotfl: :rotfl:

    Thanks for the sts answer:D

    jm :j :j :j :j

I did exactly the same Anic I buy the turkey rashers from ASDA ,for 25 calories a slice they are lovely and worth it, H loves them to as he hates all the greasy fat that comes off some of the real bacon so he is happy and I get my bacon rush can't be bad:D

I do both with bovril, drink it as a hot drink and also use it as gravy, true I love thick gluggy gravy and it does not quite match it as granules would do but it is lovely none the less and you can get used to it.

I remember buying the healthy be good to yourself sainsburys gravy granules feeling very virtous about it and when I came home and compared those to the normal gravy granules they had hardly any difference in fat, calories etc, a total swizz, so now only have bovril.
