Thankyou Efrieze, Beanielou and Victory for making me feel so welcome on the thread. I have been quite good since joining, no chocolate or crisps for the last four days, although did have a mince pie (my treat for having been good) last night. My problem is too many sugary snacks, too much tea and not drinking enough water. Trying my best not to have any chocolate untill Xmas. I am sure I will have enough inspiration from the thread to keep me focused.
Hope everybody has a good week.

Wow, it has been quiet on here! Morning all!:hello:

I'm dressed and ready for my first day (well, hour anyway!) - not that I'm keen or anything - I start at 9.55 :T

GOODLUCK BAILS hyper.gif. WE'RE ALL ROOTIN FOR YOU :D .

Raphael: you are doing really well party.gif
Tiby:well done on cutting back on the sugary fatty stuff :T . Beware not letting yourself feel too deprived though - build in a few treats if you can would be my advice, so that this becomes a new permanent way of eating rather than torture til Xmas then complete collapse  . Keep posting :T

Delly how did DH cope with his first week back at work? He must have been very tired but was it a positive boost fo him overall?

Petrichor: how did the great trouser hunt go?

Thanks everyone!! Happy to say I had a lovely (and pretty easy) time! :T I was supporting a L1 boy with ants in his pants called Aaron, right up my street :rotfl:Pleased to say he wrote two whole paragraphs today and can now spell 'because'! :D
Great to be back in the classroom and being useful - can't WAIT to get back in there teaching myself but all in good time... Back in again on Weds for another hour with a different group.

Where is everyone? Seems to be quite quiet still. How was everyone's weekend?

Tiby, welcome! How do you get on with herbal teas or hot water (with a bit of lemon in)? Just an idea to help with your water intake. I also have a little bottle on me everywhere so it's easy to sip away. Drinking 2 litres a day is one habit that's very easy to get into.

Our heating is now broken (seems to be doing the rounds on here ) so off to wrap up as warm as poss - Delly's gloves and scarf will come in very handy, thanks!

Tiby I would suggest you don't cut out the sugar altogether, cut it right down yes but if it goes completely until xmas you will yearn for it give in and binge on it because you feel so deprived so best to add a bit into your weekly treats allowance, something to look forward to, that will keep you more focused and going than cold turkey and feeling unhappy because you are not self allowed any whatsover.... WW do some lovely puds/biscuits/desserts/yogurts that are low in calories, sugar, points and fats and can be added into your allowance....
I love angel delight no added sugar chocolate mousse and the WW yogurts with fromage frais, they are a lovely treat, or try to add some raisins for sugar taste or apples , pears etc for natural fruits...
As for drinks I drink hot lemon with real slices of lemon, don't get the preserved ones not so nice and also hot bovril, love thatas it reminds me of gravy:D

  • Afternoon all - is it safe to come on here or will my heating pack up now!! ;)

bails, I'm so pleased today went well for you will keep everything crossed you're back to 'proper' teaching as soon as you can.

tiby, well done on the sweet things although as others say be careful you're not getting into the whole denying yourself thing - whenever I do that I just tend to eat lots of what I haven't been letting myself have! On RC diet you're allowed one treat a day of 100 calories but that can be any fat content you like - I've started having half of one of the small bars of Green&Black's dark chocolate which really gets rid of the chocolate craving, and its very good quality dark choc too which they say is good for your heart!! (Although not if you eat a whole box of Black Magic ;) ) I'm a fan of the WW fromage frais with fruit in the bottom as well just like victory - love them!

Can't believe how quiet it is on here at the mo!! Perhaps everyone is doing their Xmas bargain hunting..............!!

I'm here briefly before I take my little one for her first playschool photos. I'm really excited cos I've only had a couple of proper pics done. The bounty ones they do in hospital & one the local paper took for the baby competition when she was 9 months. Now she's nearly 2 1/2 it will be nice to have them & I must remember later to phone the photographers to book my family portrait courtesy of Nectar card. Keep forgetting to do it.

I can't believe how quiet its been all weekend guess everyone's been xmas shopping or bonfire parties. We went to a friends on Saturday night & they let fireworks off in their field it was great Maddie kept telling me how pretty they were and when they finished she said she didn't like it. My mum & dad took us to a proper display last night it was great & she liked it better. It was only £1 to park the car at the cricket club and donations in a bucket which was good. They had a bar, bbq & fairground too. We had to be home early tho cos OH is an electrician & he had to start putting up the town xmas lights at 4.00 this morning so he had to go to bed early. That's him out at that time in the morning now till switch on night on 7th Dec he should be home soon to get under my feet. Must get DD ready for her pics. bye for now
Life is like a box of chocs ..... i've got a soft centre but I ate the whole box.

    Hello everybody!

Nice to hear about your lie in dellybelly! We take things easy around here at the weekends too if we can. My son loves his lie ins, I am so thankful that I don't have a child who gets me up at the crack of dawn!

x_raphael_xx congrats on your 4.6lbs loss, is that a one week loss? That is amazing!

Tiby - a slightly belated welcome from me too. I'm new here also. Good luck on keeping that focus. My weakness is crisps, I had to cut them out totally. I know if I had a packet now I would want more!

bails, I'm so glad to hear all went well today, I didn't know you were a teacher. It's so great to hear you enjoyed it :D Hope Wednesday goes well for you too.

I had a lovely weekend catching up with some friends amongst other things (isn't it great when someone you haven't seen for a while notices you have lost weight!) I had lost just over 1lb on weigh in today. 1lb a week until Christmas will have me at just under 8.5 stone so I am happy with that.

I'm also pleased to report the purchase of three pairs of trousers and two pairs of pyjamas! Finally! (I also got some very glam new underwear, hehehe). La Senza has a big selection of pyjamas at 2 for £25 at the moment.

Look forward to hearing updates from everyone else soon!

That's great news bails, I am soooo happy for you. Rome wasn't built in a day, but climbing a mountain starts with the first step. BB's mixed metaphor of the day :D . I had a poem published last year on having ants in your pants (in a children's anthology obviously). Very high brow it was :rotfl: .
I haven't been on much coz my OH has unplugged the internet and is rationing me :rotfl: . It's for my own good he says:D . I'm trying to get a lot of work done on my laptop this week and I am distracted every 3-4 mns by internet surfing! Great for displacement activity the www.
Just been for physio on my back and off tonight to friends for fireworks and chilli. Suffering from the munchies (as an altnative displacement) but fortunately no choc of crisps in the house. Just half a roast ox calling my name.
