    Hi All

Hi Lily's mum - and wellcome - sorry I can't help with the WW question but I am sure someone will be along soon who will be able to help.

Julesgr, Wow - fantastic, you must be over the moon - especially if it was unexpected. I'm also pleased to hear about your Nan - it will take a bit of stress off you too.

The Dragon, If you are the weight you say you are - have you digitally enhanced that photo? You look great - like everyone else I agree - you do have a great figure. I have a similar problem to you except the other way round - can now get into a 20 on the bottom but am still 24/26 on top.

Warning!! Warning!! - okay I have managed to get a hold of the photo that was taken of me during the summer so if everyone would like to back up their hard drives right now I will post it. I don't want to get blamed for breaking everyones computers.

Now I can't quite decide if I am more like the back end of a bus or the side of a house!!!

I was at my work's christmas party on Friday and seem to vaguely recall through my alcoholic state that I have ended up in quite a few photographs so I will try and see if any are available at work tomorrow and see if my 2 stone loss so far is noticeable. (assuming everyone's PCs are still working)

My PC is still working fine thank you Anic! Oh and to my mind you look better than me!

Did you enjoy the Christmas Party then

Thanks Dragon - I hate having my photo taken - I am very self concious and normally hide when a camera is produced.

The Christmas party was very good. It was in a place called the Caves in Edinburgh and the dinner was actually held in a stone vault underneath the South Bridges. I've never been there before and it was a great venue. Our Company pays for everything including the transport for all Employees throughout the UK so there were about 150 of us there and it was great to catch up with people I hadn't seen for ages.

The only thing was I have recently found out I have a spur on my heel and have just started taking tablets to help with the pain. I didn't actually give it any thought but I think the medication was helping the alcohol work a little faster so I was quite "merry" after two glasses of wine - hence the reason people managed to get me to agree to have my photograph taken.

Grannynise - now I know how you got your name. I don't know if you are a granny or not but you look lovely so hence the "nise" bit - never was good at spelling!!!

What a lovely thing to say! You made my day, Anic. I am most certainly a granny, and the nise part is short for Denise, but I'm now going to encourage my DGD to call me granny NICE as it's so good for my ego!:o :o

You look like a lovely friendly person in your photo, just as you are in your posts.

Dragon are you sure that your scales are reading correctly? or have you found a way to magically reduce the appearance of your hips? If so, please share the secret! Those jeans are NOT size 24. What I loved about your photo too was the way you've got too many books .... all piled up on top of the shelves as well as filling them.

Welcome Lily'smum, sorry I can't help with WW points as I'm a SW person but there are lots of WW experts here. I've found this thread to be much better than going to meetings as you can get help and advice all the time here, not just once a week.

Julesgr, slimmer of the year !!!! :T :T :T What an achievement. Looking forward to seeing the photos too.

Thank you for all the words of advice about hot toddies. The sniffles have more or less gone now, so the lemsips and throat sweets are now off the menu.

I want to look like Efrieze when I grow [STRIKE]up[/STRIKE] less too but I think it's a folorn hope. Can I lose years as well as pounds?

Yep regrettably! and those jeans are size 26 from Tesco (we went to get another pair a couple of weeks later and Cherokee no longer do the larger sizes - rotten lot! have they not heard that the average size is getting bigger {Victoria Beckham not withstanding :rotfl:})

Hmm we (DH and meself) like books and DVDs - I can't say that the removal men were too keen though :rotfl:

If you can - let me know! I will confess that I would like to turn the clock back to before my accident but still be able to meet and marry Mark! :p

  • Hello,

You're right BB I have been absent for a while..been lurking a fair bit though .

Things on the diet front just seemd to grind to a halt after my first 7lbs...and somehow...that first 7lbs...doesn't seemed to have lodged itself in my brain so I feel like I have achieved nothing full stop.
Also had a fair bit of stuff on recently..the labs been busy and I've just found a 6month post I want to apply for so thats my evening taken up.

Everyone's photos look fantastic :-) Very inspiring...

Top tip of the day....Your brain recognises depth quicker than width...so people drinking a tall galss of water think they have drunk more than if they have the same amount but in a short glass....same goes for food...portions of thin fod like pizza will get over estimated whereas chunkier food (choc cake ) are sligtly underestimated...so if you'r struggling to drink youre quota of water try popping it in a shorter glass...

Nice to see you Anic, my computer is still working just fine and is eagerly awaiting the next instalment from you!

    Dragon
, your accident sounds savage. I can't believe that meds can make you put on so much weight in such a short space of time - my heart goes out to you.

Lilly's mum, welcome! I can't help you with the points either I'm afraid (where are all the WW peeps tonight?) but surely running round after 3 kids counts as exercise?! Don't worry about not being able to make a class, lots of us don't go to one and use the support on here, which is fantastic!

Granny nice is it then, and well deserved too! (not a title I shall ever be bestowing on the Dementor if we ever procreate :D).

Serendisglair, I can completely relate - I've only lost half a stone really too and I don't feel as if I've got anywhere sometimes. But we have and we will lose more in time so believe in yourself and keep logging on, even if it's just to tell us about your day. I've missed you! And I also miss Lois so if you're out there and feel up to a post, it'd be lovely to hear from you LL.

Victory, good luck at the hospital, I hope your hot lemon is steaming when you get there :D
Sorry, bit rushed tonight but I'm full of cold so off to bed xx
