Thanks suggs, anic and grannynise. My WW leader's funeral is today (we don't hang about over here). I won't be going as the big giant head from my work has decided to come down and have a last minute meeting (sheesh!).

bails I've also had a nightmare time trying to log on to MSE in the past couple of days so it's not just you and Petrichor - you didn't scare everyone away, we just couldn't get on.

I too am a stationary geek! what does that say about all of us? lol.

brighton belle I did manage to get to a class last night (just couldn't wait to next week to find out how I did,) can you please mark me down for 2lbs off instead of STS. Thanks

Hopefully I'll be able to log on later. if not, have a great day everyone.
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

Put me down for a 1lb loss please .... WHOOPEE!! 22lbs gone now altogether.

Bails you can have my job from now until the end of term. Christmas productions with 4 year old prima donnas, glitter in places where no self respecting bit of glitter should be, wet playtimes, stressed staff . ... It's not worth it even for free run of the stationary cupboard. Oh yes, and it was the annual target setting meeting too this week. Children throwing up all over the place and I'm supposed to be improving attendance.

Where was the hotel, Suggs? Be as specific as you like, I know the town pretty well. Canal view sounds great. When I took MrsA we stayed at the NH Barbizon Palace, really close to the centre, but I've stayed in loads of places. I proposed to MrsA on a bridge across one of the canals - on one knee, the lot. Her response? - "Get up, you're embarrassing me"

Don't suppose you ate out Indonesian did you?

I haven't been able to log on for 2 days and assumed the whole site was down, but it seems the troubles have been intermittant for some and non existant for others. This has put me behind with sorting the secret santa as I'd only transfered half your addresses  and couldn't PM you all anyway. Today is mega busy for me , (including meeing a friend I haven't seen for 19 years that I found through google on Monday - very excited:j ). So forgive me for being a little slow on the SS front as I'll be doing the chart this evenng:D as a priority. Will get the ss sorted by tomorrow latest. I think there's some good stationary clues coming up here...:rotfl:

See you later with the chart - if it doesn't appear it will only be because on log in probs, but hopefully they are sorted now

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

    Morning all.

It's a 1.5 lb loss for me this week (although 1 lb of it was from a gain last week).

5.5 weeks til I go away - can I lose 8.5 lbs in that time - not sure but that's my goal.
  • hi all, i too have been unable to log on and i'm up to my eyes in christmas food thanks to my job so i can't go back and catch up. However, I am wondering how MrsA finished up with a broken leg. Had you not got that wardrobe screwed together tight enoguh Ajax? But seriously, what an awful thing to happen and I hope that you and she are okay.

I've put on 1.2kg this week - and i deserved every last gram. Hoping things will improve, but i'm fighting a real losing battle at hte moment - I've got 3 christmas dinners this week, 2 next week and 1 the week after and i'm running christmas product evaluations all next week. Just trying to keep drinking hte water, eating the five a day and staying away from the chocolate as far as possible.

last heroes tonight! sqqquuueeeeaaalllll. Also just finished watching life on mars and can't believe it took me this long to discover it. And i'm not even a child of the seventies. I now have Camberwick Green Gene and Sam as my screensaver.

I had the same problem with logging on for the last couple of days and thought the site was down but it has been fine this morning.
Very sorry to hear the sad news you had Dellybelly and Julesgr. It is always difficult when someone you know passes away but it must be so hard to take the shock when one day they are there and next day gone.
Glad that your knee is better today Victory. And a belated welcome to the "21 club".
Thanks for doing the Charts Brighton Belle, its a 1lb loss for me this week. Welldone to all who have manged to lose this week. I read somewhere on MSE forums about adding flex seeds to porridge. I did google the health benefits of flexseeds/linseeds , and it seems that they are quite good for increasing the metabolic rate. So I have decided to eat ground flexseeds everyday and will report next week if it has any effect on weight loss- I am always looking for easier ways to shift this weight!

I can also vouch that it's easier to lose weight when you're younger. My friend 15 years younger has lost the same amount of weight as I have, in less than half the time! She was bigger to begin with so I don't know if that makes a difference - but she is doing really well :D

I can't help thinking she must think I am lying or cheating though to be losing so little compared to her! Especially when she says she can't understand why my loss is so slow

Thank you everyone who said nice things about my small breakthrough with the exercise. I was all set to do a new yoga DVD last night but the pre-workout 'talk' went on for about 10 minutes with the fast forward feature disabled(!), and once it got going it was much too slow for me. I gave up and did 20 mins on the cross trainer instead! Another yoga DVD will be hitting eBay soon, haha!

BB - yeah some more clothes! :D I know what you mean about not trusting your size! I still can't get used to picking up a size 10 (or 8 in some shops!!!) It feels wrong!

Bails - thanks for your update, lol @ hill p%rn :rotfl: great to hear you are so happy :D It's very obvious things are getting better for you all the time, and it's lovely to hear.

Hi Vixarooni - belated welcome! 1000 steps on the stepper is cool, do you do your arm toning with free weights or something else? When I started that I was surprised how feeble my arms were, but it didn't take long to work up to being able to do 1000 combined with lifting 1.5kg weights in each hand. I do mine with a lateral thigh trainer, I bought a stepper recently but it went back faulty!

    Still catching up... back shortly...
