  • could it get any worse
when i got up mum was half undressed saying she was hot , thought it was weird so i did a lateral flow @ 7am , came up negative.
shes not been great at all this morning , nurse came in and they are going to bring an air bed in , she said we are in the last few weeks.
She really looked poorly so i took another swab and FML its come up positive

So far I have am showing negative , i have been treating mum as if either of us could have it and wearing a mask and washing hands after being around her.
I best get used to being indoors , its going to be a long ride

Oh dear that is not good news.  Sorry to hear your mum has Covid.  Awful when she already so poorly.

My sister feels awful about it , I get that , I would too
the only consolation is if it was going to happen it’s better when she is already as the nurse confirmed in her final weeks and not 6 months ago when she still had plenty of days left
its the only consolation I can find
mum had an anxious day and got quite distressed about a lot of things
she then asked me if she had it and I couldn’t lie to her , she seems more settled now she knows
  • I’m so sorry ☹️ What awful news.

  • I really don't know what to say Efes. I wish I could help, in a practical sense, bring food or a hug. Just really sending you love. XXX
    Nevertheless she persisted.

Have you been on to the carers about what support they can still provide? Medication drops or something?

And with sister out of action you're going to have to ask NM to bring you things I suppose.

At least you can shut the windows now and get the warm in.

I'm so sorry to you and your mum. Sending you lots of love xxxx

  • Thank you all for your lovely words
an air mattress has been bought in and mum is blissfully comfortable in it
i had a sitter last night so could switch off , must admit I went and bought a bottle of white and took it upstairs with the sitters blessing
there’s nothing we could have done about this situation , in hindsight maybe both have worn masks around mum. I’ve been doing that all week and it feels so restrictive and my skin is so dry , only on my chin
im still negative , part of me just wants it all over if I’m gonna get it but knowing my luck I’ll get it in another week and end up spending most of January in the house !!
I spent 20 in Tesco last night , wine for me , some protein yoghurts , trifle and ice cream for mum ( I’m having to feed her so going for easy soft foods) and a bunch of flowers for mums bedside table just to brighten it up a little and hopefully get a smile out of her.
I have a shopping slot booked for Tuesday and plenty in the house
I won’t be seeing NM for quite some time which makes me sad but right now it’s more important to keep everyone safe and I won’t compromise on that x
