  • Just so difficult.

I hope you get a night sit soon Efes.

    XX
thank you , i can only think the lord answered my call for strength this morning as shortly after I got a call for our first night sit in 10 days.
I can feel a bottle of wine with my name on it
i need it after the start to today.
  • wow , wow , wow where to start.
went over to NM's  last night , had to be back early this morning and sometimes i wouldn't bother going but i needed a bolt hole
it once again took me and the carer to get mum in to bed , 3rd night in a row.
My stomach played up all day yesterday , its either stress or fresh tomatoes ( plus a period) so I didnt know what I fancied to eat , popped to tesco enroute to NM's ( he was at work) to put air in that blasted tyre and picked up some cous cous salad , tampons and shampoo/conditioner. Left the last three items there so I need to go out again to get some more today as need them for home too ( £10 spend)

Chilled with a bottle of wine and watched the apprentice

got home about 7.45 am , pottered around etc and then had a phone call from my boss at 7.57 about an urgent order for today , could hear mum pottering about and got off the call at 8.05 and went downstairs to get a cup of tea and she is 4 steps up the stairs !!! just drop me out , some days you can barely stand and some days you quietly make your way upstairs for your teeth ( couldnt make this up) which are in the kitchen soaking and your clothes ( which are all neatly stored in boxes under your bed)
insisted she was going up and refused to come down , so i had to get quite stern about it - managed with much care and precison to get her down , we have a 70's house with a twist and platform 2 steps up , got her sat back down and gave her a little talking too about her safety.
phone rings from boss , take that call and hear a thud and she is out the kitchen trying to pour coke even though I left her with a fresh cup of tea and water ..........she says she doesnt know when she last had a drink.
Tell her to go back to her chair , she then starts rambling about needing to call the chemist to tell them she wont be coming to her appointment . Tried to tell her she doesnt have an appt but she wouldnt have it so just handed the phone book and phone to her and told her to fill her boots

my tolerance and my patience is rock bottom

phoned macmillan , gp has come out and suspect a water infection may be causing increased confusion so antibiotics to be picked up , also picking up a stair gate as the stairs are just too much of a hazard

marie curie have given the life line of a night sit tonight , ill need it as im on my own with my work load all day

That's a good call. Water infections can make you totally loopy. Hopefully she gets back on an even keel and stops trying to be super woman soon.
Glad you went over to nms I know its more effort but I think its worth it overall. Just not being there will help you mentally.
I'm sure your mum can out houdini a stair gate xxx

  • typically friday night mum slept all night with the nurse sit.
Saturday I went with my eldest daughter for a few hours to pick her wedding dress , she had already tried it on she just wanted to make sure it still gave her the same feeling before she said yes to the dress , it looks absolutely stunning and it makes me look forward to the big day next year.

Mums still been pretty sleepy , she had a relatively good night saturday night , even managing to get up and find a slice of cake

yesterday NM and I took my nephew to the football , great day - met some friends in the pub pre match which was nice , there was a bit of fighting before the game which thankfully my 12 year old nephew saw the stupidness of and was laughing at the culprits rather then got freaked out but its quite sad that in this day and age grown men are kicking each other to the floor and throwing cans of beer and missiles at each other at a game which was largely populated by families

Got home and had a chinese takeaway ( 20 spend for me) NM offered to pay but I hadnt bought a round all game so thought it was only fair I picked that one up.

My sister said mum had slept most of the day yesterday and today seems no different , have tried to get her to the feet for the toilet a few times this morning and failed so told her we would wait for the carer.
The agitation of friday seems to have passed by , she is on antibiotics so maybe there is a link or maybe its just a stage however I sent saturday evening removing the handrail from the bottom of the stairs and installing a stair gate so she cannot try and get up the stairs again
  • In other news another £25 win on the PB , not to be sniffed out but i'm waiting patiently for a big one.

Checked my credit report , I'm not using just 6% of my available credit and my balances are 63% of what they were , this is without the car loan paid off which is yet to show on my report.

This months general spending card is sat higher then I would have liked which is still a bit of an xmas hangover , its not a problem to clear that.
Would really like to clear the tesco 0% card currently sat at £550 , January I should get a small bonus so it would be nice to get rid of it , however the 0% doesn't expire until April so time is on my side.

  • I honestly think you couldnt make my life up
Sister was here last night with mum , this morning she texted me to ask where the LFT are kept as she feels like she has been hit by a bus , test instantly came up positive
She tests every day as do I. Yesterday she was negative.
NM and I tested this morning and both negative but will that change ??
Sister put her mask on , antibacced everything and opened all the windows , stripped my bed and put all the linen in the wash. fortunately mum was asleep so she didn't need to help with anything there.
She left as soon as the carer arrived.

Now I feel like a sitting duck , I saw her last night when she came in to take over for mum and I saw her on sat/sun , she gave NM, my nephew and I a lift to the train station 5 minutes away on sunday ( NM did open the window in the car though!!!)
I'm home and have a PCR test to send off but I do feel slightly concerned for mum , I and NM. I so wish he would have the vacinne.
my booster was 14 days ago tomorrow , I hope and pray its kicked in.

Tested mum and had to tell her why , she is negative but I also have to test her often as I could be free and she could have it.
Suffice to say NM and I will be conversing over facetime only for now and I am stuck in this house on my jack until my sister has a negative result or 10 days whichever comes sooner.

She says she hasn't been anywhere which she hasn't really except out for dinner last week for my neices birthday , my neice is testing negative and she was my primary concern as she works in a pub pretty much every day but I guess with this variant it is what it is and not much you can do about it. Have suggested she also gets the kids to do a PCR

Nurse came in , I bought up the marie curie downgrade and said i had had 1 sit in the last 14 days , she is going to see if she can get the priority changed and also see if the care agency can do a double shift as its becoming more difficult to lift mum when she can't stand and the carers have needed my help several times.

I guess now I am even more stuck in this house I wont spend as much money however I'd rather have the extra set of hands.
  • currently waiting for the afternoon carer to come so I can go to the chemist to pick up mums medication thats needed for tomorrow and buy some cold and flu remedies just in case and some more anti bac soap etc
mum isn't too concerned about it but she did get confused over the testing , shortly after her swab she was saying she needed to get to the toilet to wee in a pot for her covid test -told her the only thing that would show up on that is if she was pregnant !!

Oh no! I have heard its better do an lft on your throat as it gives a quicker result if you're positive.
Do you have to let all the carers know? Xx

i'm not sure i'm terrified they will withdraw the care and leave me on my jack but at the same time they should be aware for their own protection too.
i've got a slight sore throat and head cold but that isnt uncommon for me , done two negative LFT and posted a PCR off too
rest of sisters house is negative , but the last 48 hours she has been here more then she has been home
