The support within the hospital is not there , they have her tucked away in a side room and sunday during a 2 hour visit not one nurse was seen.
Shes going crackers in there and has to buzz to have a commode bought to her , when i was there last night she needed a sick bowl so i used the buzzer to see how long it took ...................6 minutes , not a huge amount of time but it is when you are desperate for a poo !!
I don't think the nurses like me , I told them that regardless of any test results she would be coming home today as although i appreicate challenges what they are providing is not sufficient , they replied with she would be safer in hospital , she got a very firm , not in my experience in 4 days she has been put at risk of covid and had a fall neither of which has occurred in 6 months at home !1 -
cafelady said:Hi there. Just delurking to say I’m sorry your mum is so poorly and that things are hard for you at the moment. Also, re: the phone, I prefer to buy outright rather than on contract and always buy refurbished ones from Music Magpie and have been happy with them. Might be worth you having a look?Hope you’re ok xx0

I'm trying to get it done , shes calling me telling me she would rather be dead.0 -

Despite their short comings they are getting her infusion sorted and you've seen that you can't be seen at home. I hope she gets the right support while she's there (mad logic aside). Try to wait for the CT scan?
You have totally lost yourself. And you won't be the same again. However, you will get lots of you back. And you will enjoy things more. You will get you back xxxx
Lifes tough at the moment and mum being in hospital has really given me perspective on how much of my time is spent caring for her and how restricted I have been. It also has given me an insight in to life when she has gone.
NM has been great , its tough for him as he is adjusting to life without his own mum and he knows whats coming for me and how that feels.0 -
so an update on everything
Money - well this month there basically is none. I decided against finance on the new phone and instead paid it from my wages , its pretty much depleted my account as it was £498 which is basically every spare penny , I'm going to be careful as I can be for the month and basically shift what I spend over from my savings and then have a figure next payday of what I owe myself. Don't know if that makes sense but i have a method.I could transfer the whole cost but if I have to move over what I have spent its more likely I will cover the majority of the cost of the phone myself
Daughters birthday sunday so out for dinner for that on fri and also taking my nephew to the football on sunday , plan to go to the cafe before the game to avoid temptation of paying through the nose for food at their catering counters.
Also will need to account for travel , although my nephew and his pal have their own go henry cards so they can get what they want without dipping my pockets.
Hoping NM treats me to dinner after.
Had a nice day out with NM on sunday on a boat on the thames , saw a few friends , one of which was at his mums funeral with her hubbie who is a good friend of NM. I did detect a slight change in her manner towards me but she is one who I thought would have one so it could be my imangination. Spent £16 on travel and around £30 on my share of our drinks , took my hip flask full of gin too but it just shows how expensive London is. Was a nice but very long day.
Mum is still prisoner in her isolated room at hospital , we have been told that if we take her home before she is assessed by the social team we will lose our funded care package. As far as I know , this is being done as I type but regardless she will be home today. She is calling me saying she would rather be dead so if they dont sort the package out ,I'll have to manage her care and get on to the district team/macmillan to get some kind of care reinstated.
Its really very ridiculous and she is very distressed in there but I'm doing everything I can to get her home.

Nice of the hospital to almost hold you hostage. Hopefully it is getting done and she will be home ok tonight.

Once you have been in hospital 24 hours every support service is suspended1 -
also current debt standing
Tesco 0% card £1500
Car loan £856.41
£2356.41 in total , 4/5 months I should be debt free , the temptation to just clear the decks is growing.
