Well done on the review. I am also hoping for a more frugal July and have my mot and service to pay for….I hate it when you don’t know the figures in advance 😖 I hope yours sails through.

I have to find inexpensive things to enjoy in July.......the rest of the garage is cleared tomorrow so maybe I can do some decluttering etc.
I'd like to go to the market saturday but that seems a bad idea !!

Last year it sailed through but did have 2 new tyres a month or so before at its service , my bulb warning light has been coming off and on so I hope its just a couple of bulbs

Its only 2k until the next service is due but I'll wait that one out as no point doing it early

Oh dear! Your mums going to be paying for that indulgence.
Glad the footballs lifting you mood and giving you an escape xxx
Loving the tournament but didn't enjoy our play in the group stages
Mum did manage a little bit of dinner but i think she will think twice before she reverts to wanting to get in on the shopping arrival again.
  • Car passed , so just the certificate cost.
He did say my indicator on the wing mirror isn't working properly but that can wait until the service.
I walked to pick it up and it wore me out , im becoming very unfit but can't fix that at the moment.

  • so with the exception of lawnmower and xmas decs I now have a clear garage , boys arrived at 7.30 this morning and were done by 8.30.............feels like such a triumph even though off course I paid for its clearance and didnt do it myself - it would have taken me months !! I don't think the main door has been open for years so I'm not going to chance tinkering with that at this stage but now at least I can go through the last few boxes which have my stuff in from when I rented and I may box some of the stuff up in my room and put it in there.
I have 45 years of my life in my childhood bedroom so it may ease the pressure a bit ............I will not however hoard and use it as a dumping ground as my mum quite obviously has.
Its really thick with cobwebs down there so think I may need an industrial heavy duty feather duster.
My rent , virgin tv bill and nationwide account fee have left my account and I'm looking and feeling poor , I've got my hair treatment this weekend so I'm going to cut my sunbed trips down to 1 a week and basically avoid going anywhere where I need to spend!!
I have put £150 in to savings which I can always claw back and I'm hoping for a few wins on the PB but if need be i'll draw back from the £150.
Ultimately the goal is that the debts continue to reduce and we don't go in to the overdraft so if that means not reaching my 136k goal this month then that will just have to wait until next month.

up very early this morning to find the washing machine already going and at least another 2 washes to go in after a "messy" night - good job it looks like the sun is shining !
It was such a mess , just the start to the day I wanted............worn out already.
Didn't have a sunbed , going to make it once a week this month as things are going to be tight with my hair needing colouring later ( I get a couple of hours out ........go me !)
Just as I said I needed a good month , the dunelm sale lured me in but to be fair under £15 for a new quilt cover and 6 pillowcases and I do like to have a "nice" bed , its the little things at the moment and I'm here an awful lot.
Sister wasnt working in yesterday but still only popped in for her usual hour or two and then headed off for lunch in the sun with her best friend and left me juggling mum and work once again. I'm past getting annoyed about it , she does deserve some "me" time too but I think I will just have to accept you will never truly understand my circumstances , I guess unless you are in them you won't - I certainly feel like when I try and convey to anyone they just think I'm whinging.
I popped to a friends once mum was asleep last night just for a cuppa and a to get out of the house , she also lost her mum to the same cancer mum has so does get it but we didn't chat about that for too long , it helps to have someone who has been through similar.
I don't even want to look at my bank account dwindle over the next few days , I keep thinking about the future , about where I'd like to live , how much that is going to cost , how much I am going to need to kit myself out , how the return of stamp duty is going to impact me and how I can never really have enough money put away.
I hate seeing the payments to my money mismanagement of the past going out and although I could clear them and wipe the slate clean I don't completely trust myself to make the same payments in to my savings so for now I just have to suck it up I think. The positive is that it should be gone by the end of the year.

Today i'll be running widow twanky's laundry , avoiding online sales and I do get to have my hair done , the lady who does it is a bit of a journey away but shes also a friend so it will feel like a bit of a social visit too

Just checked my bonds and although I'm not a millionaire I have another £50 in prizes this month , last months £50 prize when in to savings and hopefully this one will do the same but I'm going to keep it as a bit of a buffer until closer the end of the month as I've already topped up to get to me to the magic round up total of 136k

Oh wow, well done on the wins! I now have £250 in bonds, but £200 of those won’t be in a draw until September, so I’m not expecting to be lucky any time soon 😬
I know just what you mean about savings versus debt. I paid my loans off last month and paying the same into savings feels precarious, in the back of my mind I know I could take it back in an emergency, which I don’t want to do! But it’s not as safe as paying to someone else somehow! I just need to train myself and that’s always the hard part.
I hope the weather is good drying weather by you ☀️

Out of little acorns grow mighty oaks so fingers crossed for September for you.
I scrolled through the list of winners first hoping some of the big wins were in my area and it might just might be me but maybe next time

its official im going to be cash poor this month.
been a bit down last few days , there was a clash between my sister and I both wanting to watch the football and although the kick off time meant it was workable I was left in no uncertain terms that there would be no flexibility on her part and if anyone was going to miss out on plans it would once again be me. she had "promised" my nephew............well what a lovely position to be in to be able to make a promise without having to check if it was possible because I absolutely can't !!
I'm tired of my freedom being dictated by someone who is not willing to make equal sacrafices , who can spend her days off lunching with her friends or meeting up in the pub , who gets to "go" to work for human contact etc and who will do what she wants rather then what she "can"
its not going to change but I am fed up with it.
    it gets me down.

Was chatting to mum this morning about rising property prices and the stamp duty holiday and she said there was nothing to stop me buying now , there is , what was within my budget when the house sale was agreed is now outside of it due to a 15% increase in prices in our area since January. She then bought up me keeping this house and suggested that I look in to paying off the equity and she would transfer the deeds in to my name ........Potentially that would secure my future but its a mine field as obviously the house should be 50/50 between my sister and I and no matter how I feel about her at times I am not callous enough to go along with duping her out of her future inheritance and then theres whether we would be able to do it considering mums health ( although shes of sound mind) and whether there is time to do it as if you had asked me 12 weeks ago whether I thought mum would be here I'd have said no and I still think that so I don't know if I just take my chances or just wait and deal with it when the time comes.
Mum thinks it worth at least a phone call.
