Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 3 - A New Beginning

Morning all :coffee: :hello:
I haven't spoken to my mortgage people f0xh0les - it hadn't even crossed my mind if I'm being honest. I'll put it on the list of things to do if I get another month down the line without any progress being made.
Thankfully ds is feeling a lot better - we spent a few hours snuggling on the sofa watching The Greatest Showman for the millionth time and he's on the mend. My stomach isn't doing so well now, but I don't know if that's physical or stress related. I was quite pleased for the day off in the end because I got time to myself with no plans and nothing much to do. I spent quite a bit of time reflecting on my current situation, as well as crochet time and food prep and inventory...
Got an email from my solicitor. Unfortunately, ex does need to see a solicitor in order to transfer the property over to me. I have sent him a text but I'm not hopeful. After initially being really upset by it I have tried to remind myself that it's not helpful getting stressed out over things I have no control over - and this is something I have no control over. It's just annoying that I have made the decision to move on, and I can't. However, I'm keeping in touch with everything that goes on with the solicitor so that if it ends up going to court I can argue my corner and say I tried my best. I will find a way to make the financial situation work - I have gotten through worse than this in the past and survived. If I need to do the same again then I will. Just need to continue to tighten my belt and let go of the guilt of not being able to do more and give more.
I finished crocheting a lap blanket I've been making to give to my next door neighbours. They are an elderly couple and don't get out much so I am making them a blanket each for Christmas. Just the border to do on the second one.
Also went through everything in the fridge and freezer - there's loads of food so really no excuses. I'll get on trying to use some of that up.
Today is also looking fairly quiet. I was going to meet bestie in town for a coffee but I'm not sure if I'll have time before I need to go tutoring. I'm doing 2 hours (much needed £) then the rest of the day is looking a bit quieter - I'm doing chicken dinner for later this evening then I'll watch the dancing with the kids. No thoughts of work. Not giving up

You are doing really well at all the things you can control.
I do find it really odd that he would put off allowing his children to have a financially secure place to live. i wonder if he understands what the repercussions of his actions are. -
Not in any way suggesting you will end up in that situation, but still, he does not know your outgoings anymore. Good job you have no intentions of trying to sell the house. Sorry, probably not helping.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, i am glad DS is feeling better.
It has been over 3 years since the last bout of V&D swept through our house and I am still traumatized over it.

Yes, I have 7 more weeks at school too. Mind you - I prefer the time off after Christmas rather than having to get straight back into school a day or two after New Year. I have the dreads about going in tomorrow, but I think that just fits in well with my current frame of mind at the minute. I don't really have any reason to worry about work - it's busy but going well overall. Obviously a day off always leads to stress once I get back but that will be short term too.
I quite enjoyed yesterday all in all. Managed to catch up with bestie, did my tutoring and have a fairly productive day around the house. I did a load of cooking and managed to rescue quite a lot of almost past their best veggies from the fridge - I'm always proud when I get a load of cooking done because it doesn't happen very often.
Unfortunately, sleep didn't go that well last night and I woke up at 4am with my brain in overdrive. Gave up trying to get back over and got up at 5am. I have dozed over again a couple of times since, but I am tired today. DS and I are just about to go out for a walk as it's quite sunny and I think a bit of fresh air will do us both good, physically and mentally. I really haven't done anything at all today - just trying to relax a bit while I can.
The money thing is stressing me - even though I am trying very hard not to let it. Hmmm. Not giving up

That makes 3 of us.
Hope this week isn't too stressful CCL.0 -
Ugh.
That is all.
My sodding washing machine has stopped working, and all of my usual little checks of cleaning the filter have failed. I actually cannot believe it and am starting to wonder how many more little challenges life would like to throw my way. I'm getting tired of trying now because one thing after another keeps going wrong. The washing machine however, is less than 5 years old and so is still under guarantee so I'm desperately hoping that whatever is wrong with it will be covered by that. The only day I can get someone to wait in the house all day is Tuesday next week, so that's how long I'll have to wait. I might have died under a pile of laundry by then though.
So, apart from that latest, joyous thing I've been working hard. Caught up on my marking and stuff missed from last Friday - plus a full teaching day. Work is going ok, I just really wish that stuff at home would pick up a bit. Between the current state of disrepair in the house, my divorce, finances and the continual breaking down of appliances I now don't feel like I have much left in reserve to keep going. Ah well. Not giving up

Do you have a laundrette anywhere near? I know we have one close and to be honest wouldn’t think about it ... unless my washer broke down. Thinking of you.
