When it rains it pours. So sorry to hear you're poorly. I've never had an infection like that before, is it likely to clear by Christmas?
Good to hear though that you seem to have been seen by a caring and thoughtful doctor. As you say, they're all super busy and this one seems have taken the time to really get to the bottom of everything. Hoping it all works out well and swiftly.0 -
Crikey. So sorry to hear this. As the others have said please take care of yourself. Rest up and concentrate on letting your body, with the help of the antibiotics, fight off this infection.
Hopefully your kids will be able to help out a bit.
i sympathise about the wait at the centre. I was in hospital on Tuesday night with my partner. She was taken in by ambulance was on a trolley in a corridor as there was no bed. She was on the trolley until we left at around midnight. We'd been there since 18:00. They'd only handed over to the docs at 23:45. Now she's trying to rest at home but can't as we have a 2 year old that is into everything.Tesco [STRIKE]£7647.88[/STRIKE] £7,488.96 Asda [STRIKE]£2,552[/STRIKE] £2,300 Virgin [STRIKE]££4,204.95[/STRIKE] £4,204.95

That was not just aimed at you, that was at the kids too.
Have you been signed off for the rest of the term? or are you intending to patch yourself up and head in for the last day or two? You covered for those off last week, they can cover for you now. :A
DS sounds like a star with the tea making and DD has untapped skills in the kitchen. Let them help you, it will help them in return, and make sure they talk to you if they can. :happyhear
Today's cuddle and bedtime story on the sofa is called 'explaining manipulative behaviour' and sponsored by the Anti-Gaslighting League'. What a Tw*t (add your own vowel ). I am so angry on your behalf, and massively glad you are on anti-b's and are being forced to step back and do a bit of self care.

Hello
I feel a little better today. I did literally nothing yesterday except the docs and lying on the sofa. Today I've managed the docs, voting and lying on the sofa :rotfl: My head of department offered to come and collect ds for school today, which was lovely. I told him I would try and go in tomorrow because I felt vaguely human at 7 o'clock, but it hasn't taken me long to realise I'm not properly better. I still feel as though I've been kicked hard and still need to be at the loo at least once an hour. I got home from voting and then slept for 2 hours so perhaps not ready for work yet. I think I'll take tomorrow off then go back on Monday for the last week.
I know I'm miserable because I'm ill but I am so tearful about everything. My weight mainly - nothing like seeing in big red letters on your medical record that you're 'severely obese'. My days - if it were so easy to sort it out then I would. I often wonder how someone as smart, and with as much common sense as me has ended up in this situation. At least I don't smoke at all or drink very much. And my arm hurts from my blood tests as well. And I can't be bothered to do anything but sit - which is better than lying down like I was all day yesterday. I have at least managed to pick up my crochet today.
So I have to make it to school to pick ds up later - then I will make the decision about work tomorrow (suspect it's a no). I have done an online order with Mr S for later and am pretty much letting the kids take charge. DD had made apple pie and custard (from scratch) at school yesterday and I am looking forward to eating it later when I can properly enjoy it.
As for the ex - he is safe and well. I had 3 separate phone calls from various police forces yesterday. It's good to know for passing onto the kids, but I personally hate how much of my time this still takes up. Got my child maintenance review through this morning - he still owes me over £1000 in back payments there - I won't hold my breath.
Thanks to every one of you that has taken the time to read and comment on here over the past few days when I've really been struggling - it is appreciated more than you know and helps me feel less alone and sorry for myselfNot giving up

Ahem, CCL......unless I have accidentally picked up Mr F's specs instead of my own, I think I have just read that you have been considering going into work tomorrow. Of course you could have made a typo. I'm assuming you meant that you are having tomorrow off, so that you have 3 whole days plus the rest of today for those antibiotics to be working & for you to get your energy levels back up, then see how you are feeling on Monday. I'm quite sure, that's what you meant to type! If I didn't live so far away, I'd be heading up the A1 to gaffer-tape you to the sofa!!
You might have been feeling a little better at 7am today, but let's stay on Planet Sensible!
Good idea to have done the online food order. The apple pie will be a lovely treat when you fancy it. It's horrible being weighed at the Dr's, but did she tell you anything you didn't already know? No, so let's say that's one to park for now while you get better & you can maybe have a plan of action in the new year for healthier eating - I'm certainly going to have to get back to mine as soon as Jan 2nd ticks round.

CCL, what a week you've had! Please listen to foxgloves and rest up til Monday at least. You cover others when needed but you need time to rest up and recover.

Honestly CCL, you are too ill to go back to work. See what you feel like on Monday, but if you aren't 100% better then, you should stay at home longer. Do take care.
And on the weight issue, you are certainly not the only one who needs to lose a bit in the New Year, but now is not the time to worry about it, as Foxgloves, in her usual sensible way, points out!
Your kids are being stars by the sounds of it :T0 -
Don't worry people - I am not going into work tomorrow. I realised by the time I'd napped twice on the sofa that there is a world of difference between feeling better at home and being well enough to go back to work. I'm not. I have to sleep after everything I do so there's no realistic probability of managing the job for a full day. I had to pick up ds from school today and that has exhausted me again.
Kids both asked me if I had done any present wrapping, but I'm not even well enough for that. Hopefully tomorrow. But as it is I just want sleep - I have no desire for present wrapping when I'm completely well. My head hurts and my kidney hurts and I have lots of comfy blankets all over the house :rotfl:Not giving up
