Crazy Cat Lady Chapter 3 - A New Beginning

So apparently I was able to have a little lie in this morning, as my school is off for an Inset day but we've done all the training after school so it's been a proper day off. It meant an extra half hour in bed, and the possibility of getting up at 7ish rather than half six.
Nope - my brain decided it was raring to go at 4.45am today. I tried desperately for an hour but then gave up and got up. I watched telly, fed the cats, changed litter trays and then woke ds up. Leaving the house half an hour later than usual for school translated into a 20 minute delay on our usual morning commute and I barely got him into school in time.
Went straight into the city centre on the way home - armed with my list and determined to get in and get out again as quickly as possible. Stopped off for a sneaky bacon butty and a cuppa as a bit of a treat, and made my plan. Got everything I wanted except ds desk, which I had already thoroughly researched online and had one in my basket on eB@y ready to go. I went in every charity shop looking for a decent second hand one but no luck. Was ages in Primarni - I think I queued longer for the tills than it actually took me to get the stuff I was looking for. Finally got back to the car 2 and a bit hours after I'd arrived. I've ordered the desk for ds, and made 2 phone calls I've been putting off (one of my anxious things). Stuck a quick load of washing in and am just about to put stuff away upstairs.
Then I have just over an hour before the next school run nightmare. Not giving up

Maybe if you could see it, you might start to use it up a bit more ? Don't want to go all Rumplestiltskin on you, but maybe hiding it in the loft is not the best thing to do. I suppose that is what those footstool/pouffe things were good for. Hide it in plain sight. But then again DH leaves all his crafting bits and paintbrushes and soldering bits in plain sight and it drives me nuts. It's never easy is it? All you creative types! nope, sorry, nothing helpful to add. I suppose you could always list some of it (heresy!!!!I know) and see if anyone bites? Just a thought. Boxing day is supposed to be a big traffic day on online selling sites...... (leaves that there and backs away slowly.......)4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I've just written a very long and ranty email of complaint to Bee Tee about my terrible broadband service. I have had problems for over 6 months, and I am done with being lied to by their shoddy customer services. I've sent it in via Resolver and am prepared to copy it to the Chief Exec or to the Ombudsman if I need to. Surely shouldn't be as difficult as they're making it. Anyway, it's taken me over an hour to write so I'm not going to go on about it any more.
I'm shattered. Back into the habit of waking up between 4 and 5am and not getting back to sleep again. It's like I felt when I was married, just constantly stressed and not able to concentrate on anything. As a result I've been in a right old grump of a mood for most of today, and also really on the verge of tears for a lot of it. I know it's just tiredness but it's not a pleasant feeling.
Not much else to report - one of those days where I've just survived and not much else. Not giving up

I can sympathise hun, I hate days like that but we all have them. Tiredness is a real contributory to those kind of days, but you don’t need me to tell you that. You got through today though so it was a success. Draw a line, snuggle up under your duvet and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

If you are going to be waking up at 4am, how about shunting bedtime forward a couple of hours to compensate? Is DS still in your bed or has he gone back to his own? You only have another 13 teaching days to get through. The end is in sight. Then you have time to de-stress.
Hang on in there! It is a stressful time of year anyway. We are waving pompoms on the sidelines. You are not alone.
May your broadband be super-fast very soon.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Hey CCL,
Playing a bit of catch up but see you're struggling with sleep and stress. I'm trying to recall myself but what did you do the last time when you felt like this?
Also, on the poor customer service, why not switch? You might even get a better deal? You certainly would have over the weekend (Sky was 50% off broadbrand for new customers).
Hope you manage ok, especially at this time of the year.0 -
We had so many issues with EE it wasn’t until we got Vodaphone that they straight away agreed to investigate and fault was in the road which they got fixed. We sadly moved shortly afterwards. I would move too not worth the hassle.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Thank you all so much for the kind words and suggestions. Unfortunately I'm tired again today - woke up at half three this morning. I did manage to get back over to sleep but it was on and off until I got up. Less tired than yesterday though. And I had completely forgotten that it was Year 11 Parents Evening tonight - so I've only been home just over an hour. Thankfully DD had made chicken pie at school so dinner was on the table and waiting for me :j:T It was AMAZING - but she insists that she hates cooking as much as I do so isn't keen on doing it much
Broadband situation is not much improved - I will find out when I'm out of contract and perhaps move myself over to my TV provider. I've had to reconnect my telly box, smart tv and laptop to the box tonight, which is just a pain in the bum. My complaint has not been acknowledged and neither has my appointment date been confirmed. Makes me more than a bit angry.
My life is a little busy and uninteresting at the moment (but I like uninteresting if I'm being honest) which means I've chalked up another nsd. The Christmas shopping is still done, and I am still tired. I don't know what the solution was last time - I can't remember Speky… I have no problem getting to sleep, but I'm just waking up ridiculously early and not able to get back to sleep. I have thought about going to bed earlier f0xh0les but I don't want that to become a new sleep routine if possible - but maybe for the short term so I can survive the last fortnight at work. Not giving up

If you both hate cooking, then it's only fair to share the burden! I would suggest 50-50:rotfl: That is so brilliant she made you dinner. Yay to CCGirl.
Hope the stress levels drop - my kids are so hopped up on sugar when they come out of school it is ridiculous. They have started on the 'films instead of teaching' and 'end of year quiz' lesson with chocolate prizes, and that is the high school! Honestly don't know how you cope with 30+ at the same time. Hang on in there, tomorrow is Friday!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
