That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy

    Poor DS, and poor you.

Glad you had a fab holiday and sorry about ex causing hassles (I've been AWOL again so just caught up!)

    Hello :hello: :coffee:
I'm shattered. It doesn't feel anywhere near having started the 6 weeks hols to me - it's been a really strange few days. We are home but not officially discharged from hospital - we need to go back in today. I just got so tearful when they said another 24 hours of antibiotics that they took pity on me and said we could come home overnight as long as we go back in today for the next dose. DS is loads better thanks, kids aren't ever poorly longer than they need to be are they? He picked up after his first antibiotic dose - however they haven't properly diagnosed him as yet. He had all the symptoms of a kidney infection but nothing grew on the plate they made from his sample, and his blood tests were inconclusive - so they started to suspect a kidney stone, but nothing showed up on his ultrasound apart from 1 very swollen kidney not draining properly. So he has an outpatient referral, but he still needs more antibiotics and a CT scan (which they couldn't arrange for us yesterday). When they told me I was upset (missing dd and not enjoying sleeping on a camp bed in the ward) so he's on home release - not discharged but in my care at home, and we're definitely going back in at lunchtime today, hopefully for a shorter stay. I've had a very long, very warm shower and thoroughly enjoyed sitting on my sofa with my feet up and my choice of tv programme. Also could snore my head off in my own bed without worry :D:D:D
Got home to the house being an absolute tip. I was in the middle of decluttering when I had to take ds to hospital and had a huge bag of rubbish lying about, bags to go into the loft and mostly unpacked suitcases. Was a bit embarrassing actually - but took me an hour to sort so not the end of the world. DD had done a grand job of looking after the cats for me but not done any washing up so there was a bit of a stack waiting.
I've spent even more money while we've been in hospital (car parking, tv for ds and extortionately priced hospital food for me) but none of that really matters as long as ds is ok. It's a bit of a worry not knowing what has caused this but hopefully there will be some answers soon. I feel like I haven't had time to start on the huge summer holiday to-do list (which I haven't I suppose) and the hols are passing me by a bit. I will get there though, I always do.
I emailed my solicitor to ask about Friday, but haven't heard anything back as yet. I might give them a ring this morning - I haven't felt as though I've had time, and it hasn't been that important on the grand scale of things. I've also started getting lots of nasty letters and phone calls at the house from ex's bank. I keep telling them he hasn't lived here for over a year, but they keep contacting me  I really could use some closure on that front sooner rather than later. I don't even know where ex is now - I haven't seen or heard anything in weeks (since that call from the council) - thought about sending him a text about ds but changed my mind when I considered whether there was any benefit at all to ds if his dad knew where he was. There isn't. He's shown no interest in months - plus last I was aware he is drunk, homeless, jobless and penniless... so I'll stick to my own, happier world without him. I feel for ds, but I can't be responsible for his dad.
Right - I'm going to catch up with what I've missed on here before we go back to hospital - I'll be back later.

I was sorry to read about your son being poorly, CCL. I hope he continues to pick up & that you get a diagnosis soon. I don't know much about kidney stones, except that they can cause lots of pain. It does sound like the anti-bios are helping. Good luck for today.
Oh, I did feel cross that you are now getting annoyed bank letters for your ex. I guess their policy when people owe them money is to keep on sending to the last known address. All you can do is keep putting them back in the post box with 'No longer at this address' written on them. You can't forward them on, as you don't have an address. You will just have to be a 'stuck record', I think. Just a thought..... I've just filled in this year's electoral roll form for our household. I wonder if yours is imminent. If so, you can remove anyone no longer living there. That will also be an important tool against debt being raised using your address.
Roll on your legal stuff being sorted. Mine is also still ongoing. We were almost there, then I had an email to say one of our solicitors was leaving last week so everything has passed to his successor. I will even be happy to get the bills...... just to have it all finished.
Take care today, anyway, & shall send positive vibes to that naughty kidney.

Oh my, I hope DS is quickly on the mend and that you're taken care of too! Hopefully the CT scan will be more comprehensive and show something not too serious. The little trooper sounds like he's powering through. Obviously gets his grit and strength from his mother.

    Morning,
Glad to hear ds is feeling a lot better. Hopefully they can diagnose him soon, treat it and if needed put in a prevention plan to stop a reoccurrance.

CCL it might be worth taking a hospital survival kit when you go back to the hospital in case ds has to stay in again. Mine would contain food, drink, entertainment including crochet, clean clothes and toothbrush etc.

That's a really good idea, Bailey's Babe. Difficult to do when you have to go in as an emergency, but I know from all that happened with my Mum & Dad in the last couple of years that having to get food & drink from the hospital cafe really does add up. We managed to take our food about 50% of the time, but goodness me, all those occasions when we didn't, really showed up on our bank statements. Crochet is a good idea to help with any waiting - I always had some knitting with me, just a little project which fitted in my bag. Let's just hope it's all soon sorted out.
