Do you know exactly where he lives?
It seems very suspect that he's often outside your house when you or your relatives come out - that would suggest he's out there an awful lot more than that. Unless he lives VERY close it would seems he's stalking you/your house.
If he has no legitimate business being near your property I would tell him his behaviour is making you uncomfortable.
If he's "normal" he will back off. If not then you more know what you're dealing with.
I don't know exactly but I know he is in a different city now but he still has family in this area. Yes it seems he lyes in waiting for someone to come out and then he appears0 -
Apologies if this has been asked or mentioned but I wondered how old he is? I was thinking perhaps if it was an elderly person that perhaps had lost their wife, partner or close family member that they are going back over happy memories or things he had done when they were together, e.g. to your house. Perhaps that was where they were happiest?
Edit: just seen he is married with kids. It almost sounds like he is grieving. Perhaps he has some form of memories associated with the house and these have been triggered. It could be that he was in a different relationship when he lived there, or lost someone when he lived there.
We have recently moved and we have had lots of visitors telling us about the lady that lived here and what she was like as she was quite a character. It was all a bit of controversial as she cut her step daughter and sister out of the will and let it to a chap and his wife in the village who by all accounts seem to have befriended her solely with the intention of manipulation !!!55358;!!!56596; and everyone seems to want to tell us about it and we are a bit sick of it but then it's only been a month, if it was still happening in 5 years it would be driving me mad!
That said, this does seem to have been going on for years so perhaps he needs some sort of professional help and it's not fair if it is making you and your family uncomfortable.
I hope you managed to sort it out, it's a difficult situation not knowing his intention but either way something needs to be done.0 -

Easily in his 50s yes he has a family and job from the looks of his facebook, that's the real issue bugging me is what his intention is; he wants to show us photos of what it used to look like and he'll bring his ipad in to show us and tell us the history, then he saying he's hid something up the attic its all very odd
and police are aware we have been logging it with them0 -

The attic, photos and history all sound like excuses to me to gain access. Do you have photos of him in places near your house waiting in his car? I wonder if his wife knows what he is up to? Do you have any neighbours who lived there at the same time as he did who might be able to tell you why he is behaving like this?0 -
Yes, neighbours are a mine of information. The rest of us are just speculating.(Nearly) dunroving0

So actually we don't even know if he ever lived in that house or not? He says he did but there doesn't seem to be any actual proof he did.0
