Do you know exactly where he lives?

It seems very suspect that he's often outside your house when you or your relatives come out - that would suggest he's out there an awful lot more than that. Unless he lives VERY close it would seems he's stalking you/your house.

If he has no legitimate business being near your property I would tell him his behaviour is making you uncomfortable.

If he's "normal" he will back off. If not then you more know what you're dealing with.

    Hope you changed the locks!!
  • I would facebook message him to say that you feel that he has crossed a line by finding you on Facebook and that you will be blocking him and saving the message to show the police should he contact you again. Draw a big line in the sand and hopefully he won't cross it.

I wonder if he did this to the people you bought from? He could have been doing it for 20 years.

Work out the value of your house, knock 50% on top, then tell him it is for sale if he wants it.

Bad idea as he would probably want a viewing if its for sale.

It's obsession rather than a normal 'not letting go'.

Where has the idea of 20 years come from?

The OP has clearly stated that he last lived there 15 years ago.

It looked from the first post as if they had bought the house from someone who had lived there for 15 years and then had lived there themselves for 5 years which makes 20.

Even if it is only 15 it is still odd that the old owner is trying to get into the house 15 years after he moved out. Once you might be able to understand but he making repeated efforts and it seems often drives by the house. I find the facebook thing the oddest. That must have taken effort to do. Why would anyone spend that amount of time trying to invite themselves into a house that they used to live in 15 years ago?

The more he does this the less likely anyone is to want to invite him in because he could make a scene when he finds that it isn't has he remembers it inside.

The neighbours might know what action the previous owners took to stop him from doing this.
