Nope, I never had anything from my grandparents, it was to be shared, but I refused, I don't like being handed money from family, I earn my way.

I even told my parents to leave (if anything) to my brother and his kids.

Interesting, what are you planning to do with your own will?

I also live in Scotland and have 2 children, I'm not making a will as it would be exactly the same as if I had.

They get equal parts anyway, they can divide my house and money and belongings however they like.

I've told them this and they are quite happy.

You should still make a will. It will make life easier for them and you need to cover the possibility that one or neither of them might not out live you.

It all goes to the remaining son/daughter under Scottish law.

Then it would go to my grandson if they both died.

If I outlived the 3 of them then I couldn't care less what happened to my estate when I die.

You get like that when you get old.

Guess I'm the odd one out, I'd still give the son 25% instead of 50? I know everyone has said it's the daughters fault she's not well off whilst her brother is, but you have no idea what her circumstances have been. She could have ill health or her husband or son that has meant she hasn't been able to make a lot.
I'm a carer for my son and can't work, if my grandmother hadn't left me some of her house, we never would have been able to buy a house!
