Maybe it is just down to those ordering via the net and, as you say, they're put in a queue and by the time they're processed from this queue the offer has changed. This still means they're changing offers on an hourly or daily basis which most companies don't operate offers of that short a nature. Assuming thats the case and it isn't intentional on their behalf then they do need to think about reprogramming of the site so that the offer you requested is still valid even if it takes them a day or two to get round to "entering" these orders!andy88 wrote:...It looks rather like the internet orders just go on a stack though, to be processed later. Maybe they need a bit of reprogramming of the site and database interaction or should overrule down to the lower price to avoid potential for ill-feeling.
It is a badly designed database/ordering system if it isn't capable of determing the original offer that the customer ordered even after they then change/revise that offer to a (lower) offer.0 -
andy88 wrote:I think that might be slightly unfair - it is unlikely they are changing deliberately in order to give a worse deal. Promotional offers are always changing.
The message of this thread should be that it sounds like it will be better to order on the phone, as that seems to define the moment. The internet offers don't seem in most cases to have changed wildly; for example the OP is talking of one month's difference. I would expect that OSPS will honour that as messing about with sending the phone back and processing it at their end as a 14 day return isn't worth the bother for a few quid.
Here are the 3 deals OSPS have had for the K750 last week:
8 months cashback deal
12 months Total Cost = £120
7 months cashback deal
12 months Total Cost = £160
6 months @ £2.99 deal
12 months Total Cost = £197.84
In my case OSPS are trying to charge me £197 for the second phone, rather than £120 that the first phone cost. I hardly call £77.94 a few quid.
Yes I accept the fact the offers change, but I agree with everyone else in that the ordering system is wrong in that it allows telephone orders to take priority and internet orders get forgotten about. Surely the system should take into account the time/date when the internet order was placed.
Let see what happens tomorrow morning when OSPS "internet team" turn up for work. No doubt they will have a very full mail box to go through!0 -
i ordered online last tuesday but i think my order has been forgotten. i called cusotmer services last wk and left details and was promised it would be sorted but nothing happened. When i call them tmro if they try and offer me anything other than 8 months free i'll be cancelling, feel like i want to cancel anyway cos if they cant even get this right i worry about getting the cashback smoothly. This has just been a week long headache, next time im just gonna go into a shop and pay full price - its just not worth the hastle. Also tried emailing the internet team but no reply so if you emailed over the weekend dont expect a speedy response!0

Have you actually got your phone yet?
Mine was also showing online as 3 months half rental (i ordered on the first day too), but the paperwork received confirms 8 months.0 -
customer service adviser says the 3 months line rental is from the provider and the 8 months free is from OSPS. She stated that her PC still shows the 8 months offer ......hmm not a good start0

So we get 3 months @ £15 and then 9 months @ £30 with 8*£30 cachback from OSPS making £75 for the whole year, or does the 8 month cashback from OSPS take into account the 3 months half price line rental???0 -

The 3 months half-price was an 'error on their system' so ignore it altogether0 -
I'm sorry to hear about the problems some people are having ordering from OSPS.
I bought the K750 for my daughters birthday. I placed my order for the K750 via the net last Thursday (26th May). I rang the sales line to check a few details first and they said I would get my phone quicker if I ordered over the phone, but I decided to order online to get the further discounts etc. So I was pretty surprised to get the phone this morning (Tuesday)! I was expecting Friday or next week.
I was one of the unlucky/lucky ones (depending on how you look at it) to get the 7 months free line rental. I had been looking at the offer that morning for the 8 months free line rental then it changed at about midday to 7! Gutted! But I am quite glad I got this offer now because it sounds like quite a few people missed out on this one too. (Although it's usually me who does that! Missed the Samsung D500 offer!)
The phone looks great, however, there is no in car charger with the package as there should be but I have a printed copy of my order stating it is included so I will be chasing them for this.
Can anybody tell me if the 250 free text messages per month for 6 months was included in the 7month free line rental offer? It doesn't mention it on the paperwork sent in the package or on my printed order.
Also, I am not familiar with Vodaphone contracts so if I cancel the itemised billing (for which they charge £1.50), will I still be able to send copies of the first two pages of my bill for the cash back? Basically, do they still send you a statement every month?Sexkitten
Good things come to those who wait......... but the best will be taken by those who got there first

I printed out the page at the time, and yes, it says it includes 250 text messages free for 6 months (this was the offer with the 7 months free line rental). Obviously make sure you cancel this option after six months unless you need it, since it will start costing £14 a month.0
