He has until the 22nd to inform pay pal of the delivery details.. I really hope he lost them0

Just received the following from Paypal. Does this mean he has lost the tracking number!!?
PayPal has received online tracking information for the return of your
item(s):
Tracking Company: Royal Mail
Tracking Number: seller has the phone since oct
You can resolve this case faster by logging in and indicating that you have received the returned item. This will release the refund to the buyer automatically. If you do not report the item returned, PayPal will verify the tracking information and release the refund for you with no penalty.
So what now? If i do nothing, how will paypal verify the number if he doesnt have it?0 -
thats what it looks like - maybe he will get what he deserves - no refund and no phone!0
-
But i think if i do nothing, they will refund him, How do i enquire about the tracking number? Is this all automated or will paypal have realised he has not entered a valid tracking number? How do i inform them i havnt received the phone back yet?0

Just reply saying you haven't received the item back from the buyer as it doesn't look like he still has the tracking number.
That way when paypal check it out as there is no number they wont give him a refund as he cannot prove he has sent it back.0 -
The problem is the seller has already confirmed he received the item back by email.
Paypal may insist that the buyer require evidence that the item was received but if the buyer still has all the corresponding emails, they may be enough to prove the item was returned.
I think either way paypal would have sided with the buyer even if you had sufficient proof that the phone had been tampered with.
Paypal wont accept the emails as proof. Lost count of the threads on here where people have had buyers claim not to have recieved items yet actually left feedback stating they had! Paypal will only accept tracking info...
Nothing to lose by claiming not to have received it, if challenged the OP could always say he was confused over buyers :rolleyes:0
