Let's hope so, although it would be odd for the Telegraph's financial reporting to be accurate in my experience.ThreadDefender wrote: »It would be odd for this comparison table to be so out of date, so I wonder if they are also increasing the balance on which interest can be earned?0 -
Until someone from TSB states the max balance, the interest applies to, is raising to £2000, assume it is not being raised to £2000.0

If this happens I think they won't be taking away people's second accounts. The increase will be made entirely to get into their customer's good books so restricting it to one account would undo any goodwill they may build up. Though I can see them only offering it to existing customers to save on costs.0

We have an account each just for savings so, unlike some poor others, we didn't need access to our accounts until the 2nd to skim off the interest. Really happy about the rate increase.0

Yes, and im not a huge fan of the story in all honesty.
The part about encouraging people to claim for compensation even when they havent had any hardship, advising them there are no guarantees but to give it a go, is not very responsible in my opinion.
Sorry, but I expected more.0 -

Totally agree with you!0 -
That is life people. Get on with it.
Is inheritance tax fair ? Is the HMRC fair ? Are PPC fair ? Answer is...they are not !!
TSB are rubbish and deserve to be punished. Please remember the TSB directors earn very high salaries and TSB make massive profits. I am not bothered about TSB but I want them to be punished for their incompetence.0 -

I agree and I was quite shocked when I read it yesterday! I won’t be trying to claim. Yes it was annoying at the time but I didn’t lose any money so I’m not going to try and get compensationThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Site is down again....
"...maintenace downtime or capacity...."
But we will not switch, we like our local branch and we don't see any other local bank giving us 5%.
We see it as one of those unexpected things in life that happen. We don't panic.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.
