Forever is a long time - TSB were unlikely to commit to that. What would they do when the Sun dies?

Not sure it matters at that point.

Initially deny it's an issue but eventually commit to getting it up and running again within days and bringing in IBM's finest to help them in their quest? ;)

the "promise" is certainly very ambiguous.

Technically, if the interest rate is lowered at any time after a year is up, for the rest of eternity, then the promise will have been broken.

However, it could be lowered within (say) 6 months and that would be OK, because it's not after a year!

You are correct, I should have quoted 'That rate doesn't change. So we're not like other banks that give you a high rate and take it away, that rate is there for good'. A bold assertion

Has anyone had their interest. I just opened one of these TSB accounts a few weeks back & not had my interest today ( or the £5 for 20 debit card transactions) Dunno whether just to wait a day or 2 before chasing it up

I have also recently opened a TSB Classic Plus Account through friends and family referral. Not only have I not received the £75 pound referral money which should have been paid by 25th April at the latest but I also haven't received any interest or the £5 for two direct debits.
Not a good start for switching to TSB.

TSB website says 5% on up to £1500 for new Classic Plus accounts. So it looks as if it's not just for existing customers. Still just £1500 though.

It looks as though the 5% rate will be paid from today 02 May.

From <TSB website>, rates were correct as at 02/05/18.

People who had (3/6 accounts with partner) classic plus accounts pre January 2015, will they be getting 5% on each account? Just up to £1500 per account?

Interest should be paid at close today, the £5 cashback should be paid around the 20th for the previous month.
Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place
