Well done on low L1dl spend and the run. Getting a job to keep you going sounds a good plan. If you could end the year debt-free that would be amazing. You can then look for a better role at your leisure.

Not some much ‘up and at em’ just up this morning! Lost a bit of mojo today but listed a couple of items for sale, emptied the dishwasher, made bed and done a few surveys, just going to sort the recycling and my CV and apply for the job a friend told me about.
I’ve also taken a leaf out of a fellow DFW diarist and paint the front room but one wall at a time as there is nowhere to move anything. It seems little and often is the name of the game.

Wonky Wednesday I've decided to try and keep track of where I am on a daily basis. Definitely easier than going on the phone to check. I have applied for more jobs, sent off my CV to friend and started the onboarding process for a temp NHS job. I also decided I needed to improve my touch typing. I didn't grow up in the age of computers so it does not come naturally and I have decided to improve my skills. Current speed 18 wpm :D. I also have a focus group on Monday £15 for 30 mins and possibly a longer one worth £60 in the pipeline. MSE thing for today is eating out of the freezer for dinner.

  • I am old enough to have been taught to touch type on a manual typewriter at school! It is great when I need to type on a proper keyboard, but doesn’t help much on a tablet or a phone, although I know where ti find the letters. Keep at it, practice definitely makes perfect with touch typing!

Good to track progress. I agree with the little and often approach - helps you not get burned out. I was taught to touch type at evening school - best decision ever!

Daily practice is the key to improving your speed.  I did a paid 4 month course when I was a teenager (they paid me £17 a week to learn)!  The perks of the job were good too - 3 course lunch for 5p (15p for Christmas dinner!); free tea and coffee in both the coffee lounge at lunchtime and in the office morning and afternoon with free cake!  Admittedly this was in the late 60s (prices have been converted obviously because it was still £sd back then!)

There definitely isn't any jobs like that these days!

Fantastic Friday I have managed to bag 2 more job interviews so feeling positive. Also more sales so I am decluttering and making some cash at the same time. I have bought some more Xmas pressies (out of the xmas pot) so getting organised. Kitchen tidied, washing on and parcels & birthday card posted. Actually feeling on top of things. I have printed off October and November months from Gmail calendar and adding things like interviews, focus groups and birthdays as I go. Off to practice my touch typing.

I think I fall into that weird 80's - 90's era when schools didn't have a lot of computer equipment due to cost, they didn't to touch typing or word processing and we certainly never had a PC at home. I did take some lessons about 20 years ago but failed to get a decent wpm score and gave up.

Thank you @savingholmes, one of them I have gotten through the screening phase, so just 2 more interviews to go  :s. It is exciting and a bit nerve wrecking at the same time.
Finally managed to cash out £25 on Swagbucks to my P@ypal. I have been trying to do this since the summer and even emailed their helpdesk with no luck. On the off chance today I logged on and I managed it. I'm giving that one up as I kept getting screened out, and apart from Swago and the quiz, I just didn't get much reward for the time I put in.
